ALBANY NY (WRGB) - New York State living up to its promise to help other states as they deal with large numbers of COVID-19 cases. The state is helping to supply a coronavirus testing site in Saint Petersburgh, Florida.
The announcement was made by Governor Cuomo Wednesday. Joined by St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman, the governor announced the site at the Pinellas Community Church will provide Floridians with up to 500 tests per day.
New York is sending thousands of test kits to make this happen, along with masks, PPE, hand sanitizer and ventilators. In addition to the items being donated to St. Petersburg, New York has donated nearly 250,000 items of PPE and testing materials to other states, including last Monday, when Governor Cuomo announced that New York State has established two church testing sites in COVID-19 hotspots in Savannah, Georgia.
"I know I speak for all New Yorkers when I say we will always be grateful for that help that came to us, and we are paying back the favor today by sending PPE to St. Petersburg, where we've worked together to establish a community testing site. We will continue to return the favor and lend help to whoever needs it," said Governor Cuomo.

Florida is NOT “virus ravaged.” I live here and we’re just fine, thank you. Two days ago the health dept. dumped in a lot of numbers that were deaths from a month or two ago that they had “reclassified.” In other words, non-Covid deaths or deaths from unknown causes but with flu-like symptoms, that they had reclassified as Covid deaths.
The Health Depts. in some areas are completely corrupt and do this because the hospitals and treatment facilities get more money for Covid patients. No good deed goes unpunished.
Long delay between actual death and announcement of deaths. Miami TV station looked at some 580 Covid deaths. Found only 168 were actually related to Covid. Had gunshots, motorcycle accidents, etc shown as Covid deaths. So when we have a big jump in deaths, it is a cumulative number over several days, and are suspect at best.

God what an attention seeking whore. Sending paid for, (via Feds or taxpayers) supplies to another state all the while declaring “look at me”. Isn’t that like regifting and making a big deal about it all the while the original gifter is watching and is pissed.

My daughter is a nurse at the largest hospital in Clearwater Florida. This is what she tells me, information current as of last Friday: there are 0 COVID cases in the ICU. Zero.
All of their cases are in regular rooms. The majority of their cases are MEN ages 45-65. The hospital is nowhere near being overwhelmed and they have all the supplies they need.
“Virus ravaged”? NO!
The state testing sites are shutting down for the tropical storm. not sure how that is going to impact the numbers.
