The American Civil Liberties Union of Oregon Wednesday filed a lawsuit against the city of Portland for the Portland Police Bureaus use of livestreaming the ongoing demonstrations in downtown Portland.
The ACLU of Oregons lawsuit states that PPB has used its video livestreams as a form of surveillance over Portland demonstrators who are continuing to protest police brutality and racial injustice.
...
The ACLU of Oregon filed the lawsuit on behalf of itself and an unnamed protester referred to as Protester #1″ in court documents.
The lawsuit states Protester #1 has been a part of downtown Portland demonstrations regularly, standing in front of PPB officers.
During the protest, a PPB camera captured Protester #1′s image, which it livestreamed publicly on the internet, the lawsuit states. At the time, Protester #1 was not aware that PPB was filming the crowd. Had Protester #1 known of PPBs filming, Protester #1 would not have consented to it.

They should also be smart enough to know you have no expectation of privacy in a public area, say a city street, and anyone can film you if they so desire.
Can’t have those riots and assaults on police being shown on TV and the internet!!
Accountability, like tolerance, was mainly the we were accountable and tolerating them. When it’s them tolerating us or being accountable there’s a Hillary Clinton in jail’s chance it applies to them.
Are there any actual lawyers in the ACLU? Because if this article is accurate, has the ACLU has filed a completely meritless, and insanely frivolous lawsuit?
“”””” At the time, Protester #1 was not aware that PPB was filming the crowd.””””
Is this tard new to the planet? When I am in public I just assume there are cameras everywhere... because there are.
Frivolous on purpose.
This is a full frontal assault now. Total warfare from the Deep State.
Domestic Terrorists are being identified by those who watch the live feed.
The Constitution has been missing its Privacy Amendment since 1619.
Yes- no expectation of privacy in public.
I think the courts make quick work of this.
No expectation of privacy?

To the simpleton known as Protester #1 I say ... Dude, your consent is not needed...youre in a public space.
NEW YORKAt a press conference Monday, American Civil Liberties Union officials announced that the organization will go to court to defend a neo-Nazi group's right to burn down ACLU headquarters.
ACLU lawyers Nancy Edelman and Harvey Gross talk to reporters about their fight to allow Nazis to burn down ACLU headquarters on Nov. 25. ACLU president Nadine Strossen told reporters that her organization intends to "vigorously and passionately defend" the Georgia chapter of the American Nazi Party's First Amendment right to freely express its hatred of the ACLU by setting its New York office ablaze on Nov. 25.
"I am reminded of the words of Voltaire: 'I may disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it,'" Strossen said. "While the ACLU vehemently disagrees with the idea of Nazis torching this building, the principle of freedom of expression must be supported in all cases. If we take away these Nazis' right to burn down our headquarters, we take away everyone's right to burn down our headquarters."
The ACLU is amazingly uninterested in the civil liberties of the rest of the citizens of Portland who are being terrorized by the Antifa creeps.
I wonder when the motorcycle guys in black leather jackets with brass knuckles show up to stop all of this?
Half-assed completely ludicrous attempt to shore up the “they aren’t rioters, they’re protesters” BS line that the Rats are pushing
Probably the same idiots that think it is illegal to arrest them and not immediately read the Miranda warning. That is only necessary if/when they want to question or interview them.
The Constitution has been missing its Privacy Amendment since 1619.
It happens on a public street, anyone can video it.
One could only imagine a covert action that could disassemble some of the top tiers. I don’t think it would be that hard.
