We have another problem already, I’m afraid.

Leaving the gate before everything was in order was the dumb part.

I am in Vietnam at the moment.

You just described the siuation in Vietnam, in Febrary.

The USA and Vietnam, started getting cases the same day.

Vietnam shut down. Very aggressive use of masks, and they shut down most everywhere.

It worked, until last week, except now there is a minor outbreak, in Da Nang.

Everyone in Da Nang, and in Hanoi, is required to wear a mask. Not sure why Hanoi is also included.

Everyone.

Masks are worthless, but their airline, their rules. You don’t like it? Then drive. The two people who threw the tantrum only delayed everyone else.

I have had a wild ride with Delta—trying to get my money back from a flight they canceled back in April.

I finally got half of it back while they claim they refunded all of it.

They will probably go bankrupt before I get the other half back.

Misleading headline. Corrected: Delta flight turns around after 2 passengers refused to wear mask.

Place them on a one year no fly list.

It’s Delta. They are two hubs. Don’t be a racist idiot. I’ve been on that flight a few dozen times myself.

Yes, from my recent experience. Delta tells you when buy, Delta tells you before check in, Delta tells you when you check in, Delta tells you when you're at the gate., Delta offers a mask if you don't have one when it's time to board.

Did the people who bought tickets to the flight understand that masks would be required? I don’t blame them for not wearing masks. So stupid.

Wear the damn masks already or drive.

I’ve taken five round-trips on the Big D since mid-March. As long as you wear your mask in the gatehouse, when you board and during the flight attendant pre-flight checks, you are OK. You can eat and drink while the flight is in the air (I bring a supply of snacks with me along with a couple of bourbon miniatures, and buy sodas from a post-security newsstand) and the flight attendants won’t bother you about not wearing a mask.

If a flight attendant gives you a reasonable request and you refuse to obey, masks or no masks, they can pull you off the flight and charge you with the crime of failing to follow the direction of the flight crew. The Delta captains back up their crews 100%. I’m guessing the offending passengers were jerks and deserved what they got.

Believe it or not, flying has been a lot more pleasant than it was before COVID-1984 broke out. The flights have a capacity of less than 60% of the total seats on board, so they take less time to board and there is plenty of room for everyone’s carry-ons. The middle seats on Delta are empty, so horizontally challenged people like me are more comfortable. There is surprisingly very little human-created noise, so the flights are peaceful, and one can get some quality rest/thinking/working time. There are no carts in the aisle, so it is easier to get to the lav if you need to go.

The airlines clearly state two conditions whereby masks are not required: children under the age of two and medical conditions that whereby prevent the persons breathing impaired by wearing a mask.

When one purchases a ticket for a flight, one should furnish a medical excuse so that flying without a mask is permissible and no reason to return to the airport.

Funny.

We’re over here in Vientiane. No shutdown, no one has been wearing masks. No problems. HCQ and azithromycin are easy to get and cheap.

Well that sort of explains how Vietnam was until last week.

Not now.

Big difference between refusing to wear one and not wearing one. The former usually involves stating your intent and provoking a confrontation while the later is not escalated. Especially when availing oneself to the free drinks.

Just made three trips in one month. Mask at airports is not enforced. Many of the employees have a dangling mask. Many minorities don’t wear them.

In fact I went maskless at the airport. A ute was my inspiration. Just a guess but I figured no one was gong to risk a racial incident and make him wear a mask. So I supported his cause.

United Airlines is requiring all children 2 and over to wear a mask.

Good luck with that!
