At the Jersey shore my husband killed a 4 foot shark. He cut it into slices down the backbone. We pan fried them and had a stack in the refrigerator. My sons, then 5 and 8 would go in and grab a piece whenever they were hungry. My older son is now in Afghanistan with Special Forces. I don’t know if there is a connection.

Of course there is a connection...between vacationing at the Jersey Shore and your son being in Special Forces. (I vacationed at Wildwood.)
