A total of 22 people are facing federal charges in connection to the protests in Portland, Ore., federal officials announced Monday.
U.S. Attorney Billy J. Williams announced that 22 people were charged with criminal conduct between July 23 and July 27.
Demonstrations in Portland have persisted since George Floyd died in Minneapolis police custody on May 26. Court documents allege criminal activity has broken out at night outside the Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse, including assaults on law enforcement officers, destruction of property, looting, arson and vandalism.
A release from Williamss office said that federal authorities from the U.S. Marshals Service, Federal Protective Service, Homeland Security Investigations and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) have been objected to nightly threats and assaults from demonstrators while performing their duties.
The office charged two people for assaulting federal officers and four people for failing to obey lawful orders during the demonstrations that began the night of July 23 and continued into the morning of July 24. The six individuals were between the ages of 18 and 36.

Yes. The feds still do it that way. We, as a society, need to do our part and shut the rest of the neo-hippies down. There’s already been far too much damage since ‘68.
Should be much more
I’ve read that there’s no bail for federal charges, and there’s no parole once convicted. The time you’re given is the time you serve, and not a day less. I’m not sure if it’s true, but I’d love to see these thugs spend decades in federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison.
Some filthy judge will turn them all loose.
well so were the 200 in DC charged with felony 2 federal court. Track the cases i did no one ever spent a night in jail. Here is my list i gave up when they all went home.
