Two of my great-great-great uncles fought for the Union in the Civil War — Battle of Gettysburg, if I remember correctly. My grandfather and a great-uncle (his BIL) worked against the Axis in WWII - grandfather in the occupation forces in Germany, and BIL flying supplies into the Asia region IN AN UNARMED PLANE. I also have an uncle who served above approach (honorably discharged) in the Navy for at least 8 years. My co-workers are Navy vets, one of them a career NCO. My boss is a Navy vet (a career NCO) who lost an eardrum when his ship saw combat in the Middle East.

I’ll be g*ddamned if I’ll let our wonderful country fall to these morons. I will do what I can. The blood of my ancestors cries out from the ground for me to do so.

Depends on their Rules of Engagement. I don't see Pres. Trump or any general giving permission for lethal engagement even if the Troops are attacked with potentially lethal rocks, bricks, frozen water bottles, etc. It would take live gunfire coming from the commies, and then who do Troops shoot as they meld back into the crowd chaos?

My solution: Position 3-5 snipers around the announced "protest". As it turns into a riot and they start throwing molotov cocktails into the stores, cut them down before they can meld back into the crowd. People live above those stores. Breaking windows and stealing is one thing, attempted murder is another. Time to start the killing of these savages. It would only take a few.

Well, from my years of talking to Army and Marine grunts (including my WWII infantry Father) the idea of being point is to draw enemy fire first. Then the platoon or squad can pinpoint the muzzle blasts and commence their attack. Of course nothing is usually that simple. Depends if the enemy has you out-flanked and/or out-gunned in numbers.

I appreciate your offer to join me at point. However, used to be only one on point. Don't know the deal nowadays. This would be urban warfare and not in a jungle or battlefield You could always avenged me with concentrated fire.

There is a question as to the control the President has over the military..Remember that during the DC riots, Secretary of Defense Esper sent 1,200 soldiers from Fort Bragg and Fort Drum, but almost immediately removed them. He also supports the changing the names of those bases named after Confederate generals, in contradiction of Trump's position. The head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff publicly apologized for accompanying the President to St. John's Church. Then there are the retired generals and admirals who have harshly criticized Trump.

The threat Pelosi, Biden, and other top Democrats have made about having Trump removed by the military is not an idle one. Remember Schumer's remark about the intelligence services having seven ways to Sunday to attack their enemies. In light of the FBI's involvement in the coup against Trump, Schumer's words were true, and he likely knew of the backdoor coup.
