In a powerful statement Pastor John MacArthur of Grace To You put the State of California on notice: Christians will not bow to oppression.
MacArthur argued for sphere sovereignty. He said that God ordained various types of authority like the family, the church and the state. Each is granted unique power from God and should defend its sphere of interest from intrusion by the others.
This is very good. It recognizes government has limited authority. This is critical in time like this where the very future of limited government is at stake. MacArthur’s statement will fuel a renewed Christian interest in defending both church and individual rights from government intrusion.
MacArthur does another important service by asserting our rights preceded the creation of the state. Thus, rights are not granted by the State or the Constitution. Thus, our rights are not resting on the good will of the state or even our Constitution, but rather God and God’s created order.
I have a few minor quibbles with MacArthur on political theology—but that is for another time. Now we must stand shoulder-to-shoulder with MacArthur, the elders and the people of Grace Community Church.

We saw this fact proclaimed loudly today. The secular Left tyrant may indeed respond with his self-proclaimed might ... but he will not prevail!

Macarthur is the guy who was critical of Beth Anne Moore’s ministry and supporters of Beth Anne Moore, mostly woke Christian women were critical right back!
(Not that I don’t think MacArthur may have had good reason...I do think there might have been some miscommunications between the both of them as to the other’s scope and mission)
I hope they’ll post this sermon to their website very soon. Sad to say I missed it.
His sermons usually take a few days to post (gty.org). I encourage every Christian to listen to his recent 3 part series on Christ’s return (and to start looking up).

MacArthur is to be commended for this stand. Christ is the head of the church, not Gavin Newsom. Christ has established his church and the gates of hell (nor Nancy Pelosi’s mob) shall not prevail

I was critical of it, too. One more piece of happy horsesh!t the SBC was hawking several years back. We finally ditched SBC and went to independent churches.
Thats nice for back in the day when there was honor among the justice system and a local and state government that actually was moral.

The SCOTUS just ruled against churches in Nevada Roberts of course ruled with the libs our constitution is DEAD!! SPEECH, & RELIGION GONE!!!
They can rent generators that will power that whole church. Then, put the rent down as expenses.
They no doubt have electricians in the congregation that can hook in up to the system.
Our pastor this morning commended John MacArthur for his stand !! Our church packed out 3 services, church and HUGE lawn area....and he announced that Charlie Kirk will be with us on Wednesday evening!!
GO Calvary Chapel Chino Hills and Pastor Jack Hibbs. We will not bow to the enemy!! Praise God.
