The New York Times announced Thursday it is releasing a new podcast series titled Nice White Parents, about how white parents are preventing black and brown children from succeeding in public schools.
According to the Times, Nice White Parents is “about the 60-year relationship between white parents and the public school down the block.”
Its premise is reportedly that the reason government schools are failing “black and brown kids” is due to powerful “white parents.”
Reporter Chana Joffe-Walt states in an audio clip the basis for the project is research that led her back to New York City in 1963, when optimistic white parents insisted that a new school, intended originally for black and Hispanic children who lived in “the projects,” be built near their neighborhood instead, so that their white children and the minority children could attend school together.
When the school was finally built, however, Joffe-Walt reported the white parents never actually sent their children to the school. In the series, she relates some of the conversations she had with some of the white parents to examine why they failed to follow through with their stated intentions.
The Times report says the new podcast series demonstrates that questions about why there is an achievement gap between children from black and Hispanic families and white and Asian families – despite 20 years of progressive reforms in public schools – need to be revisited:
We know that American public schools do not guarantee each child an equal education — two decades of school reform initiatives have not changed that. But when we look at how our schools are failing, we usually focus on who they’re failing: Black and brown kids. We ask: Why aren’t they performing better? Why aren’t they achieving more?

This is simply promotion of lowest-common-denominator. Typical vandal, destructive mind-set of the cultural marxists.
Any white parent with half a brain will flee the public school system - and Covid lock-downs means many are. They are already forcing their ideology on public schools in places like NY City. The public schools will be left with only the lowest performing, most dependent students.
How do they explain the superior performance of asian kids? It’s not like Vietnamese boat people came over here with their pockets full of gold.

Everything is relative. If all you white people would just stop your achievements the black and brown ones would look a lot better and feel better about themselves for not being so far behind.

VDH is right, the civil rights movement wanted blacks to be integrated and now they want to be separate and treated and appear better.
My dad’s favorite teacher was a lady named Miss Blue. She was a black teacher who taught in a nearly all Italian neighborhood in Murray Hill, in Cleveland. When she passed away, he told us that she got a send-off fit for a queen or head of state there, she was so beloved.
My late dad was born in 1934.
I have a family member who has been a teacher and administrator in the public school system for 35 yrs. She would tell you it is not the color of the skin that determines success. It is the parents in general that make or break the child’s success. She said many kids come to school hungry, tired and dirty. It is a class issue not a color one.
Actually, there should be consequences for this stupidity and there very well may be.
While people are wondering how to restrain their whiteness, the real world will be kicking their ass. That includes the rest of the world and our competitors, both economically and militarily. Guaranteed, our competitors (enemies) will not be restraining themselves. They want what we have; what we take for granted.
And the people who don't listen will be far ahead and surviving and being prepared.

Leftists are at the helm of education in this country and they have been for years and years. Black and brown kids don’t flourish in schools because Leftists need their underclass and don’t want them to succeed. The record is clear. Republicans have been trying to give minority kids vouchers to escape their hell-hole schools for years. The Leftists screech like a vampire shown a cross. It is way past time to jump back hard at these evil creeps because they ARE succeeding at one thing: wrecking our country. . . accomplished by wrecking our young people.
