The President has taken to a habit which is very common to all presidents. He has begun to speak in “shorthand” as though his audience knows the background of his statements.
His remarks could have been interpreted as actually wishing her luck with the case, or meaning he hopes she doesn’t die like Epstein.
That’s been clarified. He likes to speak simply and needs to remind himself that a general audience needs him to be very clear.
This habit of presidents is part of the reason the incumbent is unprepared and usually loses the first debate, after which his advisors get him to pay attention because he could lose the presidency.
I think Trump will be better prepared than most.
He should have said:
I hope they KEEP her well.
