White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said Thursday that President Trump was thinking about Jeffrey Epstein’s mysterious suicide when he gave well-wishes to Ghislaine Maxwell on Tuesday.
Maxwell is jailed on federal charges of helping Epstein traffic and abuse girls, and Trump’s surprising word for her spurred conspiracy theories.
But McEnany said Trump was thinking about Epstein’s August 2019 death in custody.
“What the president was noting is that the last person who was charged in this case ended up dead in a jail cell and the president wants justice to be served for the victims in this case and he prefers this to play out in a courtroom,” McEnany said on Fox News.

He should have said:
I hope they KEEP her well.
When is her suicide scheduled for?
I thought it was quite obvious.
Then again, I did read the threads on FR the day that statement was made. I was disappointed in all of the pearl clutchers on FR who seemed to instantly decry this statement as a mistake and comprehended it in the worst possible view.
Very few “TrumpBots” on this site, but throwing that out there to describe those who didn't agree with their analysis makes me wonder if I should stop spending so much time here.

Ok. I was one of the pearl clutchers. He should have been more clear, something like “hopefully she will get her day in a courtroom.” Or how about, “ this is a briefing regarding the pandemic”.

I think he's shown what he's all about and I give him the benefit of the doubt in these “situations” and generally hold my fire until I see the other shoe drop.

I didn’t say I think I’m smarter than Trump. The worst thing about Trump is his treatment of young women and his association with Epstein. I can’t stand it. Sorry.

Just say its a matter that is playing out through the legal system and let it go at that. No need to say anything about the defendant or the case.
Trump comments on way too many things IMO.
He was a little TOO friendly with Epstein for my likes. There is some talk about his possibly having had sex with an underaged girl but there is no proof so we don’t know. He did finagle visas for beautiful underaged girls for his teen pageants, and some of those girls did end up in the escort world. Again, no proof he did anything “wrong.”
But when I saw the video (looks like a security cam,b&w) of Trump walking across a big floor where some pageant women were congregated, patting them on the butts, and then saunter over to Jeffrey Epstein, cup his hand over Jeffrey’s ear, gesture at the ladies, and say something so obviously filthy it made Jeffrey Epstein (JEFFREY EPSTEIN!) literally double over in embarrassed laughter... I was done with liking Trump as a person. I watched it a few times. Maybe he’s changed but I don’t have to consider him a good person if I don’t wish to. That was the trifecta of boorish or worse behavior.

I do not know who her daughter is. Her husband is a piece of work.
Unlike others, I don’t see people who share my political opinions as pure saints and angels. On FR a decade and a half ago the Bushes could do no wrong here. I’m not worshipping our leaders ever again.
