Ok. I was one of the pearl clutchers. He should have been more clear, something like “hopefully she will get her day in a courtroom.” Or how about, “ this is a briefing regarding the pandemic”.
I think he's shown what he's all about and I give him the benefit of the doubt in these “situations” and generally hold my fire until I see the other shoe drop.
You're not one of the prolific “pearl clutchers” by a long shot, IMO.
