It’s actually stupid to kneel. It makes no sense.
It’s meant as some “protest but actually kneeling is a sign of submission, reverence. One kneels to kings, and kneels before God including prayer.
So applaud them, because they are showing even greater reverence for the flag than the standers!

They hear that and say, “Huh?”
Nice try, but no. The announcer asks "will you please rise for our National Anthem?". Not rising by remaining seated or kneeling is showing contempt.
