Judge’s have lifetime appointments, even in retirement. His orders are still enforceable. They likely could not get a currently SITTING judge to sign, so they went to a retired progressive judge who is a doddering fool who was willing to sign on their petition, not before a hearing where both sides argue the reasoning. As was mentioned above, his violation was NOT that he was writing a book but that he violated the conditions by breaking house arrest by eating at a restaurant.
