The New York Police Department (NYPD) took down the “Occupy City Hall” encampment early Wednesday after protesters there had demonstrated against police brutality for about a month.

Police dressed in riot gear removed dozens of people out of City Hall Park starting shortly before 4 a.m. Wednesday, after several homeless people had gathered at the encampment in recent weeks, The New York Times reported. Footage posted to social media showed police advancing with plastic shields.

Officers arrested seven people during the clearing after outbursts between officers and those at the camp. Police tossed the tarps and makeshift tents that encampment residents had been using into garbage trucks.

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) said during a Wednesday press briefing that he evaluated the situation for the past two weeks with police. He said the gathering became "less and less" about the protest.

"We always respect the right to protest, but we have to think about health and safety, and the health and safety issues were growing," the mayor said.

I keep feeling as if he let a crowd camp out in the park for a month... Why is that?

No didn’t know. Serious problem in America due to leftist news censorship.

Once I would have looked at Drudge and seen these links. Not any more as the filthy little same sex attracted flip-out is devoting his full energy to destroying Trump by spreading Covid panic.

Soon we will miss all local stories with no newspapers (even online) and local corruption will go unreported. And national will say what the Pravda and Chinese Communist style Dem line says “Dem Control of All Branches A Stunning Success Say All Experts. Local Policing by UN Force Beloved By People. Dem President Approval at 91%.”

I’m waiting for them to demand the removal of “Amazing Grace” from all hymnals as the author, John Newton, was master of a slave ship hauling African slaves to the “new” world before repenting of his action and accepting Jesus Christ as his savior. When they make that demand look out for a tsunami of backlash.

I thought Di Blasio said that “social justice” protesting is more important than public health....so confusing....

...the health and safety issues were growing," the mayor said.

Biden voters must've put some stank on it.

Occupy Gracie Mansion. The mayor’s residence.
That would be hysterical.
