The reason they all LIED was because they were genuinely afraid that a "run" on masks would leave the health care providers short.

This is complete BS and I show you why very easily:

Currently, the big push is not just for medical masks, but for "face coverings" of any kind - homemade masks, bandanas, face shields, etc. If they were merely afraid of not having medical masks for health care personnel, why not call for these alternatives back then?

Back when we should have been the most afraid, when less was known about the behavior of the virus and the rate of infection, normal human behavior and logic would have dictated that we take the most paranoid actions THEN, such as demanding everyone wear face coverings of some sort. Instead, we had our "top" medical staff specifically advising that people not wear masks.

Then, six months later, when we know more about the virus and realize that the numbers tell us it isn't nearly as deadly or contagious as we thought, NOW they go full paranoia. Masks for everyone, all the time! This does not line up with rational human behavior and suggests an ulterior motive.
