Not solved. If Trump wins reelection a permanent FBI director appointment will have to be made. The Senate will either be controlled by Mitch McConnell, and have the current set of GOP obstructionist Senators or will be led by Chuck Schumer who will insist on radical leftists for every appointment.

Do the same thing that was done with Grenell as acting DNI. Appoint Grenell as acting FBI Director. At the same time nominate the permanent FBI Director and put him through confirmation. Should be confirmed long before November.

My point is Wray is FBI director because he was the best Trump could get through the GOP Senate. McConnell, Graham, Romney, Collins, Murkowski, Rubio, Cornyn, Sasse, Burr and other RINO’s effectively have veto power over any Trump appointment. If McConnell doesn’t like a potential nominee, he simply signals the White House the nominee won’t pass and the nomination does not occur. Either that or Trump isn’t doing his job in finding and vetting good people. Wray, Mattis, Tillerson, Priebus, Kelly, Sessions, Esper were all Trump appointees.

Cause Grenell was giving the Deep State a lot of pain. If I remember correctly the GOPe torpedoed Ratclife’s nomination the first time round. However when Grenell put plenty of fire under their feet, they quickly saw reason.
