Harvey milk was a pederast and a sexual lover of Jim Jones. Remove his name at once

In fact, we should rename "milk" entirely. Not only is it associated with a killer, but it's also white as well. Clearly racist!

Silly question - why is renaming a military base in a funding bill?

Vegans oppose it and lactose intolerant black people are anti-milk as well.

Not one Democrat Bill to remove Robert byrd’s name or statue.

“...Silly question - why is renaming a military base in a funding bill?...”

Because it’s the only way the communists can get it passed. It would not pass on it’s own merit so they tie it to a funding bill and then hold the funding bill “hostage” till it passes. The communists are trying to do the same thing with this virus BS.

After the First Democrat-Republican War ended rather than treat the south as conquered territory and it’s residents as traitors, Lincoln wanted them to rejoin the Union and to act without malice in the action. That’s why we have the statues and the memorials etc. This so that the South could be part of America again. Since the tensions and reasons for the conflict have long since healed if the Democratic process wants to rename or remove statues, then let it be done lawfully and not with angry mobs.

I have the same basic fear.

If they take away Confederate names, they’ll LIKELY replace them with COMMUNIST names. Yes, I do mean “Democrat and all their darlings of the 20th century.

I wish the Prez had said Marx or Lenin instead of Sharpton, to highlight that it’s political, not racial.

Has he neglected to honor Spike Lee, Malcolm X, H. Rap Brown and others? /s

Can Pennsylvania Avenue be renamed John Lewis Street so soon after being renamed George Floyd Memorial Road? We barely had time to have selfies go viral from standing by the street signs. Life is changing so fast.

Shows why the "chip on their shoulder" component of the black electorate thinks Trump is not on their side.

Black middle (and upper) class who benefit from their own work and capital are with him.

I will vote for Mr. Trump and agree tearing down statues and renaming the military bases is wrong and is a useless way to correct the real wrongs in our society.

But, this is a side issue that President Trump should not go to as his campaign needs to focus on convincing voters who are not already committed to to vote for him.

Focus on MAGA, what he will do to get the economy back, what he will do to protect our country and how his plan is better than what Biden parrots from the socialist playbook.

“ why is renaming a military base in a funding bill?”

Because some Democrat that is up for re-election is pandering to people butt-hurt over the names of military bases. They are not above sliding BS into an otherwise necessary bill. This is why they will not allow a line-item veto.

Men of honor understand.
One of my ancestors was captured and held in Arkansas(IIRC) By the CSA, low on resources, they had his pledge not to reenter the war and released him. He and his unit mostly walked back to Ohio.

Brigadier General (brevet Major General) Joshua L. Chamberlain was the Union officer selected to lead the ceremony. In his memoirs entitled The Passing of the Armies, Chamberlain reflected on what he witnessed on April 12, 1865, as the Army of Northern Virginia marched in to surrender their arms and their colors: The momentous meaning of this occasion impressed me deeply. I resolved to mark it by some token of recognition, which could be no other than a salute of arms. Well aware of the responsibility assumed, and of the criticisms that would follow, as the sequel proved, nothing of that kind could move me in the least. The act could be defended, if needful, by the suggestion that such a salute was not to the cause for which the flag of the Confederacy stood, but to its going down before the flag of the Union. My main reason, however, was one for which I sought no authority nor asked forgiveness. Before us in proud humiliation stood the embodiment of manhood: men whom neither toils and sufferings, nor the fact of death, nor disaster, nor hopelessness could bend from their resolve; standing before us now, thin, worn, and famished, but erect, and with eyes looking level into ours, waking memories that bound us together as no other bond;—was not such manhood to be welcomed back into a Union so tested and assured? Instructions had been given; and when the head of each division column comes opposite our group, our bugle sounds the signal and instantly our whole line from right to left, regiment by regiment in succession, gives the soldier's salutation, from the "order arms" to the old "carry"—the marching salute. Gordon at the head of the column, riding with heavy spirit and downcast face, catches the sound of shifting arms, looks up, and, taking the meaning, wheels superbly, making with himself and his horse one uplifted figure, with profound salutation as he drops the point of his sword to the boot toe; then facing to his own command, gives word for his successive brigades to pass us with the same position of the manual,—honor answering honor. On our part not a sound of trumpet more, nor roll of drum; not a cheer, nor word nor whisper of vain-glorying, nor motion of man standing again at the order, but an awed stillness rather, and breath-holding, as if it were the passing of the dead! — Joshua L. Chamberlain, The Passing of the Armies, pp. 260–61
