Couple Under House Arrest After Testing Positive For COVID-19

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky -- A Kentucky couple is under house arrest after one of them tested positive for coronavirus and refused to sign self-quarantine papers.

Elizabeth Linscott got tested for COVID-19 because she was planning to go visit her parents.

"My grandparents wanted to see me, too, so, just to make sure that, you know, if I tested negative, that they would be okay, everything would be fine," Linscott said.

After testing positive but without showing any symptoms, Linscott said the health department contacted her, requesting she sign documents.

"I agreed to comply to call the Health Department if I was to go. I was to call the Health Department if I was to leave my house for any reason," she said.

But, she chose not to sign.

"I had gotten a message from them, a text message that stated, because of your refusal to sign, this is going to be escalated, and law enforcement will be involved," she said.

Later that week, the county sheriff greeted Linscott's husband, Isaiah, at their front door.

"I open up the door, and there's like eight different people, five different cars, and I'm like 'what the heck's going on?' This guy's in a suit with a mask. It's the Health Department guy, and they have three papers for us. For me, her and my daughter," he said.

The couple was ordered to wear ankle monitors. If they travel more than 200 feet, law enforcement will be notified.

"We didn't rob a store. We didn't steal something. We didn't hit and run. We didn't do anything wrong," Linscott said.

The couple said they never denied self-quarantining. They just didn't agree with the wording of the documents.

We got a condo in Key West for 5 weeks. 2 weeks left.

When we got here, the rule was all businesses must require face masks, or they will be fined.

This past week I noticed a sign at the pool that said people were required to wear masks whenever they leave their residence or face a $500 fine.

The kids and I thought it was funny. Wouldn’t wearing a mask in the pool be like water boarding?

Anyway, I took my daughter to a surf shop Wednesday when it was too windy to boat. A cop came in the store and checked everyone had a mask. Then he left and warned people walking on the street without a mask. He was holding a ticket book the entire time to show he was serious.

I asked if this was really serious. Do I have to wear it in the pool? Yes. My car? No that is private property. Isn’t the pool private property? Maybe. How about a boat? Charter yes, yours no.

Utter insanity.

Tell us about your Mayor. As I recall, he seems to be a complete asshole. Information needed.

I don't know about him being an ass-hole. He's just another boring, brain-dead Democrat. For most of the past few years, he's kept a low profile. This COVID mess has exposed him. He's the guy that banned church services at a DRIVE IN theater. That got over-turned by a court.

Mayor Fischer is in hot water now because of the BLM protests over the handling of the Breonna Taylor shooting and investigation. They're after him, like hyenas om raw meat. These officers are probably NOT going to be charged. And, even if they are, they won't be convicted. When that all becomes official, our city is going to be burned some more. I doubt our Mayor will survive the next round. He's a weakling.

Thanks. We watched WKLY late news last night and they didn’t cover it. Still haven’t seen it, locally, this morning.

They’re not actually IN Louisville... but, Hardin County is definitely “in the viewing area”. Surprising that it’s not a bigger story. Seems a bit of over-reach. I guess, most people just sign the paper, then ignore it.
