For exhalations they keep our nasty halitosis stuck in the mask. Oh and prevent spewing far and wide any contaminants you may be carrying. For inhalation, mr CV-19 will get on through. Short of consistently wearing your scuba tank and mask, the bandanas and hygenic masks don’t to squat when sucking in air.
I think only WHO made that claim and it was widely ridiculed.

No - That was earlier and it was because they were worried about a supply chain disruption. So - yeah - they lied - but in the same sentence they also said they needed them for the medical field.
Now - I suppose one could believe Mike Pence is lying to you - since he has been saying this all along.
I could suppose Trump is ALSO lying to you - since he also believes masks work.
Or - perhaps - most people on here are just plain stupid and just want to believe the President and Vice President are either 1) Lying to them or 2) just too stupid to know the difference.
