U.S. Attorney Billy Williams said Friday he wants an investigation into actions of federal officers who have pulled Portland protesters off the street and into unmarked vehicles.

Federal officers with U.S. Customs and Border Protection have come under significant scrutiny after OPB first reported Thursday that they were involved in constitutionally questionable arrests in Portland.

The officers, along with employees of the U.S. Marshals Service and the Federal Protective Service, have had an increased presence in the city as protests over police brutality have continued for more than six weeks.

"Based on news accounts circulating that allege federal law enforcement detained two protesters without probable cause, I have requested the Department of Homeland Security Office of the Inspector General to open a separate investigation directed specifically at the actions of DHS personnel," Williams said in his statement.

A big problem for Trump and Barr, is we have a legal system that is saturated with liberal Democrats. Another problem is Federal courthouses, are usually located in large urban areas that vote Democrat and hate Republicans. It makes it almost impossible to get convictions on people like McCabe.

We need a return to the patronage or spoils system. Basically you just can a bunch of Democrats, and replace them with “your people” regardless of merit.

The Democrats have a built in advantage, with government bureaucracies being stocked with their voters. The only way to rectify that advantage, is as you say “clean house.”

You are 100% right about what needs to be done, during Trump’s 2nd term.

LOL! And after such thorough investigation, Billy D, how do you know it was "without probable cause"?

Best thing Trump could do right now is FIRE all these SOB US Attorneys. Should have done it from the get-go.

I don't believe that "the use of DHS in Portland" violates any laws in itself. Could some actions the feds took violate the Constiution or DHS regulations? I don't know. I suspect DHS could justify its actions on the grounds that the "protesters" had been breaking the law for over a month in Portland and the feds were compelled to take action, but I didn't see everything that happened.

Another way to look at it: How is it legal or sane for the feds allow the rioters to burn down a federal building (even if people inside the building survive), if the fire spreads to other buildings?
