There may be a lot of misreporting on the cause of death.

The bottom line is there was excess death, mainly thanks to blue state and RINO governors killing off their elderly and underclass. But now that's over. We have gone below excess. In fact the ratio of current death to two-weeks-ago cases is 17% of the peak in April. IOW a current case is only 17% as likely to die as three months ago. The main reason is cases are a lot younger. But also the vulnerable populations have been exposed and survived, or in some cases died already.
