UK scientists racing to develop a coronavirus vaccine believe they've made a breakthrough in early trials of an experimental vaccine that could offer "double defense" against the virus, The Daily Telegraph reported this week.
Researchers at Oxford University began human trials of a coronavirus vaccine in April. Blood samples taken from a group of volunteers in the UK who got a dose of the vaccine showed both antibodies and T cells, a source told The Telegraph.
T cells can kill a virus and the cells it has infected, providing an important part of the body's response to viral infections. The discovery is promising because two recent studies have indicated that antibodies may disappear within weeks or months while T cells may stay in the body for much longer, The Telegraph reported.
The source told The Telegraph that a combination of T cells and antibodies would "hopefully keep people safe."
At least 124 coronavirus vaccines are in development, with at least 10 being tested in people. But scientists don't yet know whether it's possible for any vaccine to give a person long-term immunity to COVID-19.
David Carpenter, the chair of the Berkshire Research Ethics Committee, which approved the Oxford trial, told The Telegraph that the team was "absolutely on track" and that the vaccine — if it is found to be effective — could be available as early as September.
"Things might go wrong, but the reality is that by working with a big pharma company, that vaccine could be fairly widely available around September, and that is the sort of target they are working on," he said.
A trial of the Oxford vaccine involving 5,000 volunteers is underway in Brazil. The pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca has agreed to mass-produce the vaccine.

The last time that happened was the late 1970's during the Swine Flu pandemic that swept the globe. Thousands were killed and tens of thousands suffered permanent neurological damage from the US Government's rushed vaccine and the full-on court press advertising campaign urging everyone to take it.

You say what I think as I am not about to rush out to get this vaccine either, for stated reason below. So far as I have done so for the past 30 years or so I have been taking BHT whenever he need arose including right now and managed to keep the bugs at bay. BHT doesn’t mess around with your DNA etc. as all it does kill the virus and hardly any side effects for most people. For a detailed info on BHT reply.
Past attempts to create a coronavirus vaccine have ONLY RESULTED IN LEAVING THE VACCINATED PERSON WITH A HIGHER CHANCE OF SERIOUS ILLNESS AND DEATH WHEN LATER EXPOSED TO ANOTHER STRAIN OF THE VIRUS.
If not, why should we have any faith at all in this rush-job?
I want to avoid all of them.

Just in case it’s not, won’t be first in line for the new jab.
There is no rush through trials on these vaccines. They’re going through full phase 1, phase 2, and now phase 3 trials. What’s different now is President Trump is getting rid of all the bureaucratic delays and red tape that usually hold things up. Rather than sitting at the bottom of the pile of undone work on some lazy government worker’s desk for months at a time, the work is being reviewed rapidly and approvals are going through at a pace that doesn’t hold them up from proceeding to the next stage.
Being a businessman, the President knows how to streamline processes and get people moving. No corners are being cut on safety.

I don’t think Gates is involved with the Pfizer/BioNTech ( German developed ) vaccine.
A vaccine before November will be a life saver, for all America because it will help Trump.
