China and Japan hate each other.

And all of the other Asian countries who would make up a natural alliance against China hate Japan, too.

There are many strategic challenges. China isn't stupid enough to go one-on-one with the US Navy - but they'll continue to take whatever they feel they can get away with.

All of what you said and the Three Gorges Dam is threatening to break. If that happens China is pretty much done for.

Our navy better stop crashing into things. We might need them.

I disagree.

The nice thing about China is you can count on it acting in its own best interests. Not true of Iran.

North Korea is just China. Russia will also act in its own best interest, but economically their economy is about the size of New York State. The only war they can afford to sustain is one in which they are not involved.

And Germany, for whatever reason, thinks it ought to rule the world. With the EU thing, they attempted to do economically what they couldn’t do militarily last century. An argument could be made that taking out Germany would make the world as safe as if you took out Mecca (and Iran).

Great post

I believe that the current Chinese youth eschew the Communist totalitarian control and are a simmering stew of discontent. The task for the party is to pacify this discontent while maintaining absolute control.

The US still has a potentially massive coalition that would be compelled to follow.

In a real world.

You must have missed the fact that if a small child threw a rock a Three Gorges dam it would collapse and wipe out about 40 million downstream.”

Thanks. But, you may be relieved to know that I didn’t miss anything. I’m quite aware that our military is without peer in its ability to project power.

President Trump has turned the Marxist’s plan against us against them; destroy their economy first.

They already have become a huge debtor nation, the CCP owned businesses are gobbling up financial resources thanks to the inevitable poor management of State run entities, they have a generation of young horny men (thanks to the 1 child policy) and a middle to upper middle class that doesn’t appreciate what is going on.

The collapse of China isn’t an if, it is a when. If we can, as Reagan did with the USSR, beat them without firing a shot that is the best outcome. Especially if done AFTER no longer needing them as our supply chain.

Lots of people here, seem to have been sleeping for the last 30 years, while China was taking over America’s manufacturing base.

First question that needs to be answered is:
"Can today's U.S. Navy learn how to navigate in a manner that avoids collisions with other ships?"

China and ______ hate each other.

You could fill in 50 different countries, or more, in the blank.

Lots of people here, seem to have been sleeping for the last 30 years, while China was taking over America’s manufacturing base.

Indeed, according to plan. The Chicoms understood that the unrivaled manufacturing ability of the US was a primary integral part of its victories and that of its allies in WW1 and 2 - by the grace of God - and thus China needed to replace that ability with its own. Which US leadership enabled. Now only China could provide the material and men needed in a prolonged major conflict against the US and prevail.

On the other hand, instituting a major war now would result in great losses to China as well as the US, and while they will risk provoking it, yet as they see America destroying itself from within, they would be rational to wait until the Democrats further weaken the nation as the US engages in a unwinnable war against God.
