Amid the surge in gun sales that began in March and continues even now, the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) estimates 40 percent of sales are going to first-time gun buyers.
A report by the Wall Street Journal cites the NSSF estimate, noting that the FBI processed 7.8 million background checks for gun purchases from March to June.
The report pointed out that handguns make up the predominant portion of firearms being purchased, and that nearly two handguns, commonly used for self-protection, are being sold for every rifle or shotgun.

I hear ya. Quite a while back I was in a field shooting tin cans in the prone position. A couple airmen from the local base asked if they could set up and shoot beside me. I said yes.
Within five minutes while I was getting ready to squeeze one off, one of those clowns walked right in front of my weapon.
What Wally World do you have! You must live in Wyoming, or Alaska.
“One thing is that it is hard to find a gun safety class that isnt booked out passed Labor Day.”
Just contact a friend or family member that is in LEO or is a military veteran.
“I got Savage Axis-2 .223 with bull barrel, camo stock, and 4x12x50 Bushnell scope for......less than...$300 !”
That’s a good deal.
May have some issues finding 28 ga shotgun shells.
Libs need a big dose of the truth.
hahaha love it
Me too. Haven’t been to the range yet but soon...soon :)
I have so many guns I dont even know how many off the top of my head. Most are loaded and strictly placed thought out my home where my wife and I always have one nearby should the need arise. My shooting range is in my back yard. Its nice living in rural Alabama, a still free state.
Not necessarily a bargain. I've read a few reviews of the (Turkish-built) Hatfield semi-auto. Seems that they need a *lot* of break-in shooting before they begin functioning reliably. That alone is going to double the price of the gun, given the cost of 28-gauge ammo.
90% of these folks will silently join us Nov 3rd and vote for Donald J. Trump and a Republican House Rep and Senator.
As far as I can recall, the only federal gun prohibition law we've passed in the past twenty years has been a ban on bump stocks.
Bottom line,,,
If “this goes Hot”
Alot of slightly used
Firearms will be
Available!
“Neverused,Dropped once.”
BIG “IF!”
“And a Mossberg 20 gauge for super cheap to go with the 15 year old one that has never given a bit of trouble.”
$189 at Academy in June. 22” barrel, 5+1 for my wife who has trouble with a 12 ga.
Great deal.
Finding an 18.5” barrel has been the chore. On the Mossberg site daily hitting refresh until the get restocked. Said it would be 4-6 weeks.
Its fun.
I watched a ton of safety videos before I set foot on the range. I was so startled when I fired a round that I jumped. Now Ive fired about 450 rounds. After going through my sniper phase Ive been focusing on the 5 meter target. I still pull a little to the left (a common problem with nubs) but my grouping is getting better.
If I have the time Ill go tomorrow.
Not finding ANY Firearms at all on WallyWorld.com ?
Have not been to the store in a while. I thought they went all PC on Us a while back.
“May have some issues finding 28 ga shotgun shells.” [HP8753, post 45]
Not necessarily.
In our area (western SD), Wal-Mart and Cabelas have had 28 ga on their shelves routinely, through all panics and upsets. 16 ga is tougher to find.
Buy SWBI. Around 22 sh pegged at 28
