I said at the time that this was his critical failure. By refusing to resign, he deprived President Trump of the ability to reclaim full control of the Justice Department by letting Trump name a new Attorney General who wasn’t conflicted.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Had he resigned, the rules for succession would put Rosenstein and a second Deep Stater in positions of AG and DAG respectively. “Acting” AG’s can’t look at the FISA info, that’s why WHitaker couldn’t put a halt to it. So there would be the appointment and confirmation process, with the DEEP STATE in control of the Senate at the time. We are fortunate that Sessions hung on through the abuse and didn’t resign.
Rosenstein seems plenty meek yet he is all over twitter supporting the coup. Sessions endorsed Tuberville and claims to want POTUS to win. Yet to this day he refuses to support POTUS against the coup. A broadside or two against Rosenstein, Graham or Barr would be very helpful to Trump. And what do we get from Sessions? Nothing. Sessions wants his cake and eat it too. Typical useless Senator.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

As AG Sessions couldn’t “support the president”; he had to be impartial.

To this day he retains his impartiality re the Coup. He would only tarnish the Trump administration’s reputation if he took swipes at Rosenstein now. Courts decided guilt/innocence - not “swipes” from former AGs.

Now there's a dollop of unmitigated horse crap.

When Sessions finally resigned in Nov 2018, the President appointed Matthew Whitaker to be acting Attorney General the same day.

Oh how I wish you would read before you post. Sessions didn’t resign until the rules of succession were aged out and President Trump was then able to appoint an “acting” AG.

Sessions is a Lindsey Graham like lying pig. Last week on Tucker he talked about the “importance of maintaining the rule of law” and I couldn’t stop laughing.

You’d have to research it like I did to understand. And that’s not something you’d do. There were rules of succession in place for a set period of time, after which the president could ignore succession....oh but why try to inform you. You’re not hear to learn or contribute.
