Florida Department Of Health Says Some Labs Have Not reported negative COVID-19 results

After FOX 35 News noticed errors in the state's report on positivity rates, the Florida Department of Health said that some laboratories have not been reporting negative test result data to the state.

Countless labs have reported a 100 percent positivity rate, which means every single person tested was positive. Other labs had very high positivity rates. FOX 35 News found that testing sites like one local Centra Care reported that 83 people were tested and all tested positive. Then, NCF Diagnostics in Alachua reported 88 percent of tests were positive.

How could that be? FOX 35 News investigated these astronomical numbers, contacting every local location mentioned in the report.

The report showed that Orlando Health had a 98 percent positivity rate. However, when FOX 35 News contacted the hospital, they confirmed errors in the report. Orlando Health's positivity rate is only 9.4 percent, not 98 percent as in the report.

The report also showed that the Orlando Veteran’s Medical Center had a positivity rate of 76 percent. A spokesperson for the VA told FOX 35 News on Tuesday that this does not reflect their numbers and that the positivity rate for the center is actually 6 percent.

FOX 35 News went on to speak with the Florida Department of Health on Tuesday. They confirmed that although private and public laboratories are required to report positive and negative results to the state immediately, some have not. Specifically, they said that some smaller, private labs were not reporting negative test result data to the state.

"The Department immediately began working with those labs to ensure that all results were being reported in order to provide comprehensive and transparent data," a spokesperson for the Florida Department of Health said. So multiple sites are saying no one is testing negative. This is after the NIH lowered the standards in mid May on what is a positive Covid 19 test.

In other words the test is a scam. That is why everyone tests positive.

Not sure I get it...a positive is a positive and adds to the count. Even if negatives are not reported it has nothing to do with Florida’s massive positive increase.

This is not the first time something like this happened.

In May there was a data dump of 50,000 negative test results by one of the labs.

Not sure why this is a continuing problem where the labs are not reporting negative test results to the state.

Maybe it is a money issue.

Namely, when the labs withhold negative test results it inflates the positive percent and that can scare more people into getting tested and that results in more money to the labs.

I got tested before a procedure in Illinois. The results were negative. (if you test positive, they cancel the procedure.) Sounds like a reporting in the media issue as well as a reporting at the lab problem.

The unwillingness of the deceitful media to report recovery case numbers tells me that...and without that info its an incomplete data set.

Assume this:
100,000 people are tested
15,000 people are positive results
85,000 people are negative results
Positive percent is 15%

Now assume that 100,000 people are tested, but 20,000 negative test results are not reported.
80,000 test results reported
15,000 test results positive
65,000 test results negative
positive per cent is 18.75%

So when a lab does not report negative results, the per cent positive is inflated and that in turn scares more people and that in turn causes those scared people to get tested——and on and on it goes.

Countless labs have reported a 100 percent positivity rate, which means every single person tested was positive.

No, it means that they only reported the positive test results. It does not mean that every test they ran was positive.

I'm pretty sure that in normal reportable disease surveillance, negative results are not reported to the surveillance network. So the labs that only reported the positive results are, most likely, following their normal established protocols for reportable/notifiable disease reporting.

The reporting of only positive results does not change the case numbers. It only changes the assessment of whether sufficient testing is being carried out to identify all of the cases.

Now that FOX has uncovered the fact that labs have not been reporting negative test results to the FL DOH, FOX now needs to start asking WHY did those labs not report.

Unless a person has been in a coma for the last 7 months, the labs would know that POSITIVE and NEGATIVE test results have been a hot issue and that information is important for the public to know.

I would like to hear what the labs have to say about why they did not report negative results.
