It is about 1,000 miles from Egypt’s southern border with Sudan to the dam. Does the Egyptian air force have the infrastructure to hit it? Perhaps Sudan will allow Egypt to use their air bases to hit the dam.

I suspect that Israel will be willing to give Egypt a hand, if asked.
The Nile has been Egypt’s absolute core security interest for about 12,000 years. They will do absolutely anything they are physically capable of doing to protect that interest.
Does Egypt even possess aircraft large enough to deliver adequate bomb loads to destroy a massive concrete dam?
Certainly more of it than the Ethiopians have to defend it... If the Chicoms intervened the U.S. or Israel would probably respond in kind...IMHO...
