If natural, then I would think there would be a scrambling reaction to replace him that absolutely isn’t there. If not natural, then he isn’t the candidate anyway. Neither of these fit an Obama backing, to me.

She would have to fend off whomever he selects as his VP who will actually be the Presidential candidate, Biden is just a place holder and we all know it. I guess Joe's wife could step in like Wilson's did, though it would be much harder to pull that off today.

Which raises an interesting point. If it is too close to call, if there is strong evidence of widespread fraud by the Democrats, if t takes six to twelve months to investigate...then WHO is president during that period?
I recall this issue was being raised in Gore v Bush, but the Supreme Court was able to finally step in and stop the interminable recounts in one state. What if we have Florida-style problems in 10 or 20 states this year?
