Small business owners worried about financially surviving next round of COVID-19 closures (California)

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KTXL) — Message after message flooded into the Elle Nail Spa in West Sacramento Monday afternoon as Gov. Gavin Newsom announced various indoor businesses like salons must shut down in 30 counties across the state, including Yolo.

“It’s kind of tough because we haven’t really recovered from the initial shut down yet. Quite still in the struggling stages of trying to get back up and following the guidelines,” Elle Nail Spa owner Chrystyne Vo said.

The order closes non-essential offices, places of worship, indoor malls, fitness centers and personal care services, along with indoor operations at restaurants, wineries, zoos and museums.

Monday’s announcement was a surprise for Vo, who thought social distancing, masks and plastic shields would be enough to keep her salon safe and open. She’s now working to cancel hundreds of appointments made through the month of August.

“Scary with the unknown. Because you don’t know how long it’s going to be until we are able to reopen again,” Vo said.

Slam the economy and force Vote by Mail.

It’s all the Dems have got....since they can’t win on their destructive policies.

Riots okay.

Small biz wearing masks/social distancing bad.

That is a really risky strategy for Newsom and he Dems. We all live in a bubble of sorts. Most of us follow news through sites we trust which are in general conservative. We preach to the choir mostly. But so do liberals, especially Commiefornia liberals.

It is one thing for a poll in July to show Trump losing in a landslide, it is another thing for a seasoned politician of any ilk to believe those polls and risk long term or permanent damage to a States economy. Newsom’s policies are going to kill the State by November. It cannot survive another four months in lockdown. There will be no more stimulus money unless Trump believes the polls also. Even if Biden were to win, there is no more money! He can raise taxes but with 33% or more of the country unemployed who the hell is he planning to tax?

Anyone who believes that president Trump will “lose in a landslide” is a ‘effing idiot!

And that includes those fools in The People’s Republic of California.

“..That is a really risky strategy for Newsom and he Dems...”

Yes, it is. BUT, THEY DO NOT CARE. Just look at recent RAT state history. Look what they have done to New York, and all the other RAT states. Devastating. No care. Total incompetence and little voter accountability. License to kill...ask Cuomo.

I would not begin to predict what Marxists will do based on any pattern of rational responsible thinking.

Here in Santa Clara County, the 7-day average of Covid deaths has remained under 1 death per day for the last two months, in a county with 2 million people. Finally the hair salons opened today. But before the day was over, Newsolini commanded that they all be closed again on Wednesday. I’m out of here as soon as I can.

I do agree, they do not care. They hope a Biden win means Treasury will start printing money and life will be good in LaLa Land. Commiefornia also believes they are too big to fail.

I am not sure if they do not care or they are irrational, maybe they are just to f’ing self-righteous and arrogant to care what they are doing.

From here in Panama, myself and two neighbors arranged a hair stylist to come to our homes and do our hair outdoors on the patio. I hadn’t had a haircut since February until last week. The stylist acknowledged she has to come up with $350 rent every month for a salon she’s not allowed to use. Instead, she lines up visits like ours on the side to make ends meet.

I paid her double the cost of a haircut I used to get in town and then tipped as well. I hate seeing what these lockdowns have done to so many small businesses - to folks who have done nothing wrong but get into a profession not deemed “essential”.

If that’s Newsom’s objective, it seems to me that Newsom has the Claymor facing the wrong way.

If they were that worried they’d put the fear of God into politicians. They’re not, so they ain’t.

And no more $600 per week as of the end of July. They’re screwed.
