Reparations are basically workplace laws ... ex post facto work place laws. Ex post facto laws violate the Constitution.

Even if there were still living Americans who had owned slaves and still living former slaves they would simply not be in arrears to their former slaves.

As for those who never owned slaves and those who were never slaves, the Constitution forbids working corruptions of blood and beyond that the Word of God — the Hebrew Scriptures which Christians use too — expressly forbids as part of the moral Law (distinct from ceremonial or merely civil commandments) punishing sons for the things their fathers did.

Let’s see...my G-G-Grandfather left the South because he was an abolitionist. His own sons and sons-in-law fought in Union regiments.

His brothers and sisters left in the South either fought in Confederate units or their children did. We have documented battles where they faced each other.

All the Confederates were stripped of their civil rights for a time. My G-G-Uncle was paroled at Appomattox, after re-swearing an oath of allegiance to the Great and Wondrous Federal Union. He moved to a free state in the North to escape persecution by the Scalawags and Carpet Bagger “governments”.

Not real clear what our family owes the Africans. Thought we paid at the office 150 years ago.
