Washington’s NFL franchise has announced that it is retiring the Redskins name, and plans to introduce a new name soon.
Monday’s announcement comes just days after the organization released a statement July 3 saying it would be undertaking a “thorough review” of the team’s name, a process the team said in Monday’s announcement has “begun in earnest.” In an interview July 4, Coach Ron Rivera — who is working with owner Daniel Snyder to choose a name — said he hoped the new name would be in place by the start of the 2020 NFL season. Others have said it will be revealed as soon as within two weeks.

Sad - so many great memories growing up watching and going to games in the 70s and 80s. Team has been miserable and unwatchable since Snyder purchased it a long time ago. Some Indian chief is pretty darn angry about this- says they are trying to erase their legacy in this country by removing the name!!!!Chris Plante was playing audio of him.

They have to pick something indigenous to the area. I suggest:
Washington Reprobates
Washington because of George Washington and also to make it easier to threaten the taxpayers with moving the team when their finances go down the tube.
Redskins because it's now offensive despite real Native Americans saying it isn't. They can change it to the Atlantic Tax-Takers.
It was pretty much gone anyway, since they only played it when the Redskins actually scored.

Wasn’t Datsun a name developed for Nissen vehicles exported from Japan.
The actual corporate name was actually Nissen. They chose to follow the lead of Honda and Toyota keeping the name the same world wide.

When I remember Datsun it was seeing them beat the crap out of all comers on the SCCA tracks. There was no American sports car competition at all. Corvette made a “sports car” but in a race it was prone to going off the track and being beat by well handling British cars in a lower division .
