'All Lives Splatter' post has Mike Brown in hot water after Summer Taylor's death in Seattle
A cousin of Washington Gov. Jay Inslee who's been a cop for 40 years has been suspended over inflammatory online posts following the death of a protester in Seattle.
Summer Taylor, 24, was hit by a car on a closed freeway Saturday and later died; Mike Brown, a King County Sheriff's Office detective, is accused of sharing a meme on Facebook after the crash of a drawing of a person flying over the hood of a vehicle, along with the words "All Lives Splatter" and "Get your a-- off the road," reports the Washington Post.
KING 5 has a screenshot, as well as images of other offensive posts apparently made by Brown. In a statement, the sheriff's office says Brown was "immediately placed on administrative leave," with all of his "police powers ... suspended." Other staffers who reacted to the posts will also be investigated. Per KIRO, Brown's Facebook page is now down.
Taylor's father, Matt Taylor, calls the meme "disgusting" and "unfathomable." "That guy needs to be fired now," he tells the Seattle Times of Brown. "I think anybody who was liking it, sharing it, or doing anything else with it should be fired." Inslee also wasn't happy to hear about the posts, per KOMO. "I'm deeply disappointed and totally reject the language of my cousin Mike Brown who made inflammatory comments about recent protests," he tweeted Tuesday. "The language is unacceptable and just flat wrong, particularly from a law enforcement officer, as we try to heal the divisions of our community." Meanwhile, the suspect in Taylor's death, 27-year-old Dawit Kelete, has been charged with vehicular homicide, vehicular assault, and reckless driving and is being held on $1.2 million bail. The other protester hit Saturday, Diaz Love, is recovering from serious injuries.
What about those who write unfathomable words against cops? You know, those who post on social media and incite violence against them? Double standards?
Yes.
Summer Taylor, the “non-binary” BLMer. I don’t know if “non-binary” means he was a dude, but I guess he’s binary now.
Why should anyone care about what the father of the idiot says?
All lives splatter in the right circumstances.
So its not ok to call bicyclists crunchies then? (The sound made as your APC rolls over them.)
Asking for a friend.
After watching an interview with its father, I know where it got its non-binaryness from.
“unfathomable.”
I guess this person has never heard of 4chan.
The memes have been of exceptional quality.
Snicker*
APC?
What did Inslee say about it?
There’s another thread about the daughter of a murdered cop being taunted about her dead father by a bunch of liberal haters...
So as far as I’m concerns the father of Summer needs to learn to deal with the death. Maybe his child shouldn’t have been playing in the middle of a road.

Dont these people have a sense of humor?

Call me naive etc BUT reading that line would suggest that the Police or Highway Dept had put up barricades or at least had personnel directing traffic AWAY from the ramp and the driver drove around the barricades.
Then (EXCEPT those that NEVER got ‘under the fold) it explains a couple of POVs were blocking the ramp and the ‘children’ were playing on the INTERSTATE HIGHWAY...
Wouldn’t impeding traffic on a US or I route come under Federal jurisdiction since OUR money helped build the Interstate system???
AND how can the driver be charged with homicide and under a 1.5 mill bail for hitting someone that had no business being there.
It is NOT the same as speeding up and hitting a jaywalker and claiming he/she/it wasn’t in the designated crosswalk.
The person or persons that ILLEGALLY attempted to block the highway should be charged the same as the driver as they committed a ‘crime’ that had cause and effect on the driver committing a ‘crime’.
I can fathom it!
I liked the posts, and posted similar things about all lives splatter. He can try to get me fired, but I'm retired and don't give a crap - idiot daughter of an idiot father. Get off the road, or be scraped off the road, either way get the hell out of the path of cars.
Probably at least an octuple standard by now...whatever it takes as nobody seems to be interested in putting this down. I never realized that homely fat white chicks coupled with pajama boys anarchist wanna bees and a few blacks talking trash on megaphones could be so challenging. Then again its an election year so it was designed this way apparently.
Ive been in Portland and have seen these folks often.... Mostly homeless white kids that go about 135 pounds due to nutrition deficiency related to severe drug use. Cops used to take no crap out there and could be brutal given these flakes they encounter, white or black and that has been within the last 9 years...none of those stories caused a national outcry. That was just a little bit prior toTrayvon or when it became acceptable to suspend reality.
Then (EXCEPT those that NEVER got under the fold) it explains a couple of POVs were blocking the ramp and the children were playing on the INTERSTATE HIGHWAY...
After letting this roll around in the back of my pointy head for a while, I THINK the way this happened and the reasons why are:
1. The driver is known to have recently been at other protests.
2. The interstate was closed with official barriers.
3. The presence of POVs tells me that at least some "protestors" were aware they could drive on the highway if they went up and off-ramp and made a U-turn.
4. Most probably the driver wanted to join the protest, but driving on surface streets, finding a parking place, and walking up to the highway did not fit with his entitled mentality, so
5. The driver was speeding along an empty freeway hoping to find the protest, when he came up to the POVs and went around them going too fast. They blocked his vision and he did not see the people on the highway until too late.
I do not believe for a second that the driver was an innocent person who simply blundered onto a closed freeway. I think he and a few before him had used the highway to get to the protest without having to walk.
