You can stop theft and riots the same way, just don't open a store.
You can stop Conservative speakers on campus the same way, just yell and cry loud enough to the college admin.
These platforms are generally open, it's not a matter of simply not engaging them or ignoring them, they follow and attack when you're doing just about anything. That you should be perfectly fine and left alone to do. Sure, the victim has to "actively participate" by making the posts or going online, but ceasing to do that isn't just disengaging, it's how you lose the battle.
