That may be. I don't know what shell games Pelosi pulled, or didn't.

All I know is this: President Trump threatened to pull funds to colleges and universities for their outrageous violence and suppression of Conservative speech on their campuses.

Trump threatens to cut funding for colleges 'hostile to free speech'

Maybe you know more than me, but from what I have read, none of what Trump threatened happened.

From the above article:

Enforcement of the order will be left to federal agencies that award grants, but how schools will be monitored and what types of violations could trigger a loss of funding have yet to be seen. White House officials said details about the implementation will be finalized in coming months.

So it was left to federal agencies, who did nothing.

Trump apparently has little control over the Federal government, civilian or military. Three and one half years with two attorneys general, and not one of the many Democratic scandals have been pursued, not even the lower echelon players. The President had to rely on the Department of Homeland Security to protect the White House and the Federal monuments. In the cases of the 1968 Martin Luther King riots and the 1931 Bonus Army riots, the military was used to suppress the outbreaks in the District of Columbia. Why wasn’t this done in 2020? Initially, the Secretary of Defense sent 1,200 troops to Washington, but reversed course almost immediately. Given statements by the Secretary of Defense, the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Attorney General Barr contradicting or disputing Trump’s statements and positions, it is clear that most of the U.S. government is disobedient, if not outright mutinous.

I can't disagree. It's sad, but every word you typed appears to be true.

Some here hold onto a fantasy that Trump has this semi-secret "Plan" to trap the Deep State, prosecute them all, fly them in chains to the prison at GITMO, and many other things which I don't want to get into right now.

As you stated, it seem that Trump has very little control over Federal agencies, and almost no control of many of the very people he appointed to head said agencies.

We also know that the president seems powerless to stop tyrannical state governors from shredding the Constitution, all in the name of "keeping everyone safe from COVID."

I suppose it's not a popular topic around here, because it's so damn disappointing or even depressing. But ignoring it is far worse. One day soon, that reality may hit us all in the face even harder than it has.

Those good Patriots in New York demonstrating in front of Trump Towers have more courage, love of country and respect for the LAW, than these mealy mouthed academics in Universities.

We never heard too much liberal outrage during that Sandusky gate thing... makes one wonder. They do not give a crap unless it is a political use to them.

dixie1202: "Is this Penn State or State Pen?"

PIF: "These days the odds are some graduates will go from one to the other"

If you're familiar with the area, you know the two are separated by just a few miles on College Ave (SR-26).
And, given the somewhat similar architectures, someone could, I'd suppose, genuinely mistake one for the other, at first.
As for whether the inmates or students are the higher quality individuals... well, that might be debated...

Some years ago one of my neighbors had emotional problems and was put on meds to control his anger.
They worked well and he lead a normal life, but he didn't like the meds and so eventually quit taking them, ended up attacking his family & others and was sent to the State Pen -- yes, that State Pen.
So, for sake of discussion, let's suppose that instead of going to the State Pen, he'd been sent to Penn State -- given his anger-management issues, would he have been discernable from some of their other students?

I don't know... he was certainly neither liberal nor snowflake...

In my day there were radicals on campus, a few, but nothing like some other schools, and the vast majority of students were as solid as their parents, who voted for Johnson over Goldwater in '64 but then Nixon over McGovern in '72 and, of course, Trump over Hillary in 2016.

What about 2020?
Anybody's guess, Bite-me has some advantages, but so does Donald Trump.

Penn State has one of the largest endowments in the country.

Note to donors: You might want to have a word with your institution while its degrees still mean something.

Look back to Jerry Sandusky.
He had left Penn State football ten years earlier. He still had full access to Penn State facilities and an office. He had a foundation that identified young boys who didn’t have a father. He took them with him on trips around the country to attend football games.
Could he have done all this without anyone knowing? Wouldn’t he have to have funding and protection? Paterno was notified. He said he notified people, but didn’t follow up.
How many people were using Sandusky to get young boys? Why did the investigation focus on Sandusky and not the organization he created?
Sandusky was a pimp and the fall guy. The same people who facilitated Sandusky still run Penn State.
