Former Special Counsel Robert Mueller on Saturday penned an OpEd in the Washington Post, slamming President Donald Trump's decision to commute Roger Stone's sentence. According to Mueller, even though Stone's sentence has been commuted, he "remains a convicted felon, and rightly so."
Mueller has repeatedly said his report speaks for itself, calling it his "testimony." It's why he refused to comment any further, until this opinion piece. Even during his testimony in front of Congress, Mueller remained rather tight-lipped to avoid straying away from the report's conclusions.
"The work of the special counsels office its report, indictments, guilty pleas and convictions should speak for itself. But I feel compelled to respond both to broad claims that our investigation was illegitimate and our motives were improper, and to specific claims that Roger Stone was a victim of our office," Mueller wrote. "The Russia investigation was of paramount importance. Stone was prosecuted and convicted because he committed federal crimes. He remains a convicted felon, and rightly so."
According to Mueller, there was a reason that the special counsel's probe was focused on Stone.
"Stone became a central figure in our investigation for two key reasons: He communicated in 2016 with individuals known to us to be Russian intelligence officers, and he claimed advance knowledge of WikiLeaks release of emails stolen by those Russian intelligence officers," he said.
The special counsel defended the work of his office, saying Stone was charged and convicted based on "facts" and "the rule of law."
"We made every decision in Stones case, as in all our cases, based solely on the facts and the law and in accordance with the rule of law," he wrote. "The women and men who conducted these investigations and prosecutions acted with the highest integrity. Claims to the contrary are false."
Stone, a political operative and former aide to President Trump, was sentenced to 40 months in prison, in part, for lying to Congress. He lied to the House Intelligence Committee about his attempt to obtain WikiLeaks' emails from Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee.
Mueller penned an OpEd on Trump Commuting Stone.....LOLOLOL....he didn’t break any silence at all, he already had his say in his own Muller Report...Fool!
What was your point? Or was it all theater to please your swamp buddies/financiers?
“The work of the special counsels office its report, indictments, guilty pleas and convictions should speak for itself.”
You are right about that, you senile piece of ****.
45 mil of taxpayer funded coup. This guy needs to borrow Harry Reid’s exercise equipment.
“The women and men who conducted these investigations and prosecutions acted with the highest integrity.”
When was Mueller ever silent?
Didn’t he hold that press conference before the impeachment and spew out a package of lies in an attempt to influence matters?
The FBI even had an amphibious tank.
Roger Stone lives under the sea now?
I saw this man babble on in his dottage at the hearing regarding g his report
He did not write this
Ghost written...
The Washington Post has printed double size op-eds by George Soros for years
If there are Mueller’s standards of h ‘’integrity’’ then the SS wouldn’t have anything on Mueller’s people.

Well yes, the more crimes you commit, the more page space you get.
I forgot to mention, among a cast of thousands of disreputable interviews, Al Sharpton. One hoax after another. Twanna Brawley didn’t even leave a mark - in fact it got him more air time. Disgusting MSM.
The op-ed was written by the same people who wrote the report.
The one Mueller seemed to not know what was in it.
Hmmmm....slightly more eloquent than his public congressional testimony, in which he looked and sounded about as cogent as Joe Biden. Was he off his dementia meds then, or now? Or, who is writing his scripts for him?
ait a minute. I thought he had become a dementia-laden halfwit during his days of testifying. Joe needs to take whatever Mueller is taking. Its some kind of wonder drug!
The wonder drug is “get Andrew Weismann to write an article for you”.
Super howler from “Mueller’s” letter:
“Stone became a central figure in our investigation for two key reasons: He communicated in 2016 with individuals known to us to be Russian intelligence officers, and he claimed advance knowledge of WikiLeaks release of emails stolen by those Russian intelligence officers[.]”
If that’s so, where were those “Russian intelligence officers” identified in the “Mueller Report” and, more important, why didn’t the report affirmatively state that Stone claimed the asserted “advance knowledge of Wikileaks’ release. Further, and even more important, the president of Crowdstrike, the outfit the DNC used to evaluate its server for “Russian hacks”, affirmatively testified to Congress that Crowdsrike couldn’t find any evidence of such hacking.
I doubt the guys will agree, but this young lady needs to buy a bigger pair of undies.
He’s an old man.... how does he sleep at night? Some people get some wisdom in older age... he is eternally lost in his mixed up mind and judgments... HE is the reason there is a need for cleaning up and freeing those he went after... how dare he speak on this... he couldn’t answer questions asked when he sat under questioning.. he’s one of those who has put himself above everyone.. making him the judge on anyone.
I agree that us guys will disagree...
