Two McAllen TX Officers Killed In Disturbance Call
Corpus Christi Caller-Times ^ | 7/12/2020 | Joel Shannon

Posted on 07/12/2020 5:51:25 AM PDT by CARTOUCHE

Two police officers who were responding to a disturbance call were killed Saturday in a South Texas town after a suspect met the officers at the door and shot them, police say.

The shooting happened so quickly that "our officers did not draw their weapons, did not fire, never stood a chance – never had a chance," McAllen, Texas, Police Chief Victor Rodriguez said in a statement to the media.

The police department learned about the fatal shooting when other officers stopped by the scene to do a routine check, Rodriguez said.

The officers were responding to reports of a violent disturbance, Rodriguez said. "They were doing their job. That is what we are supposed to do."

Proper response is to drop napalm on the place.

Should have sent a social worker.

My deepest sympathy to the families and friends of these officers.

Sadly, this never should have happened. Two unarmed Social workers would have quickly and effectively nipped this in the bud. sarc

I feel sad for the families. But is police training to blame? Only one officer should have approached the door. The other should be on overwatch.

Surprised? Why after the Democrats have generated so much respect for police in this Republic. I bet there is a majority of the police are now looking at their options for work outside of being a policeman.

” I bet there is a majority of the police are now looking at their options for work outside of being a policeman.”

Before the NYPD became the NYPD, cops were employees of private security companies. They competed for territory and actually had riots where they wore their uniforms and shot at each other.

I think the legal structure would have to change for that to happen again. Obviously, the employees of a private security force would require immunity from lawsuits. They would also be much less egalitarian than the present city police as their job would be preventing crime rather than standing around while it happens. The users of their services would be much better served than by the present politically correct police.

The Democrats are presiding over the complete destruction of the cities they run as well as the legal infrastructure that makes cities work. That legal immunity? Well, that might come because there will be no other cops to arrest the bad apples. The courts will be ignored, as will city, county and state governments.

Guess who will be the first clients of the new private cops. Yep, the liberal elites.

This will soon be the job of social and outreach workers.

Hope they’re ready.

Prayers for the two cops and their families.

And it is stuff like this that gets the police over reaction in other shootings.

Then some on FR deride the police for not just knocking on the door or checking first.

Without a moral populace, regular policing fails.

You’re welcome. I sometimes like to scan other articles on the

take
differing directions or opinions are very different.

Every Socialist Mayor and City Council member calling for "Social Workers" to replace the Police needs to be confronted with this story by the main stream media.

This is an obvious journalistic OBLIGATION!!!!!

As are other first responders, no doubt. Who is willing to run that kind of risk in an increasingly lawless and dangerous society?

Can a complete breakdown be far away?
