Yes I am compiling a Blog about the great pandemic of 2020 and how my country stupidly shut down the economy. We will have opinions, political and cultural highlights, my personal experience, social media details, even TV reviews since I watch so much TV while in my home jail. We shall, as always, end with a smile.
MISC. PANDEMIC NOTES OF THE WEEK
(an update for my descendants)
I write this the week after the July 4 holiday of 2020 , yon descendants. It was a bit of a mess. Fireworks were banned everywhere but Americans set them off anyway. Hysteria continues over the COVID-19 virus, with several states allegedly spiking new cases. Yon descendants, I am getting so I don't believe a word of any of it.
Oh sure, I believe there is a virus. There are always viruses around , yon descendants, no doubt even in your era when you might be reading this. But we never shut down the economy before, we never carried on like big babies, we never were shut into our homes for going on 6 months now.
I wonder if by the time yon descendants read this the entire story of the crazy pandemic of 2020 is known, TRUTHFULLY.
I'm thinking of writing a book about it myself.
Colin Kaepernick , July 4 and white supremacy.
I don't know if yon descendants will have ever heard of Colin Kaepernick when they read this. For the record he is a mediocre quarterback who one day decided to get down on one knee during the playing of the National Anthem before a football game. It was considered a form of protest or some such.
So good ole Colin tells us that the 4th of July is a celebration of white supremacy.

Funny how it changes with this stupid creep.

Boom over America
I'm pretty sure yon descendants won't meet my beloved dog Jackie. Depending on how far down descendants are in the heritage. But go with me, she's a dog and she does not like fireworks.
She went nuts.
This is because, yon descendants, all across the fruity plains the country went nuts. Indeed from sea to shining sea, Americans put on their own fireworks, across neighborhoods, American legion halls, private homes. The sky was filled with more light and flare than during years when the Chinese professionals put them on.
That's the ticket! Get the Chinese out of the fireworks business while throwing them out of medicine!

MAJOR POLITICAL EVENTS OF THE WEEK

Mt. Rushmore
This past weekend was the July 4 holiday, yon descendants, and the American President is expected to make the holiday special on a national level. Thus President Trump traveled via Air Force one to South Dakota to America's famous Mt. Rushmore.
There are four famous U.S. presidents on Mt. Rushmore, yon descendants, in case the radicals manage to tear down that monument before you see it. There's George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt and Thomas Jefferson. President Trump gave a wonderful, soul-stirring speech. Since currently there are many rioters and looters who hate America and are tearing down statues of people of acclaim everywhere, Trump warned of an American takeover by these very same America-haters.
All weekend on through this day early in the week the news media is stating how Trump did nothing but praise these "traitors", such as the four men on Mt. Rushmore one might assume. His speech was divisive, so the media shouted.
It was not, yon descendants. President Trump's speech was what an American leader's speech should be over such an all-American holiday as July 4th, our Independence day.
But then today's media also hates America, yon descendants.
Electoral college
This news was just released on the day of this writing, yon descendants, and it seems that finally the U.S. Supreme Court took America's side.
The Court determined that members of America's electoral college MUST vote for their state's winning candidate as per the requirements per each state's law.
Most states at this point, yon descendants, require their electoral college people to vote as the state voted on their popular vote.
One might suppose that states could change their laws as currently written as regards the electoral college but that would require the state's voters to have input upon.
Few of us, as of this writing yon descendants, do not want to be governed by New York and California.

Ghislaine Maxwell is a British socialite and the youngest child of disgraced publishing tycoon Robert Maxwell. She moved to the United States after her father's death in 1991 and became a close associate of financier and subsequently convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Maxwell has faced persistent allegations of procuring and sexually trafficking underage …
I must wonder where the source of Jeffrey Epstein's money comes from.
For the past couple of weeks I've been hearing all sorts of things. The rumor is that Epstein was a member of the CIA and had foreign bad guys on his roster of visitors to his Lolita island.
And now, with Epstein dead by his own hand, allegedly, his girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell is too a possible suicide.
Folks, this story is one that cannot be ignored. I say to this also to my descendants, who will probably know this whole sordid story involving some mysteriously rich billionaire, a female friend who procures young women for him and many of his male friends, and quite a few famous men that my descendants might know the identities in their day.
We'll be keeping eagle eye on this story so stay tuned.
It has all the elements.

REVIEWS TV SHOWS

MasterChef
Weds 8pm Fox
A nationwide search for the best home cooks in America. One of 50 hopefuls will become a culinary star and one of America's "Masterchefs."
I am a fan of cooking shows although I am hardly that great a cook. In fact I often say that if I were to sign on to any cooking show it would be "Worst Cooks in America".
I do learn a lot from cooking shows but not much from Masterchef.
Evidently Masterchef, hosted and led by Gordon Ramsay, is for really good home chefs, better than I'd ever hope to be.
My cooking goal in life, living alone, cooking for one and with limited funds, is to prepare really good home cooked meals that don't cost all that much, freeze well and can be downsized in case the recipe is for 20 people instead of one.
And then there's the risotto. See Gordon Ramsay is obsessed with risotto. I don't even know what risotto is but he makes it on Masterchef and Hell's Kitchen, which he also hosts. Something to do with rice. Ramsay likes to make it as an appetizer.
I hope before I die I get a chance to eat some risotto.
Masterchef is contested by home chefs who hope to ascend to cooking celebrity on this show. The meals they make are hardly home chef meals. This past week the contenders had to make something called a Tarte Tatin.
Preparing this involves peeling about a half dozen fruits, perhaps apples, pears, pineapples. The fruit is placed in a round pan and then covered in a caramel type sauce. Then a pie crust type thing is rolled out and placed over the top.
Kind of a fruit pie with whole fruits as I imagine.
I did quite enjoy watching the contenders try to make this thing and I wondered what home cook on earth would go through all that work. Then again there are many recipes that are a lot of work so why not Tarte Tatin?
Evolving cooks should watch Masterchef for such treats as Tarte Tatin and other food types not normally made by busy mothers after a hard day of work.
And learn how to make risotto for goodness sake. Then send me some.

(My opinion for my descendants)
When the virus will end
Just a quick insert editorial of my prediction of when the COVID-19 virus will go away. I mentioned this on the Twitter-type website, Parler, to which I now belong, and got a lot of thumbs up.
The pandemic will end, and note yon descendants if I am right, the day AFTER the national election of 2020, 11/3/20 to be exact.
If President Trump should lose the opposition party will have no need to continually scare us to death to help them win the election.
If President Trump should win, well there will be no further need for the histrionics to keep us from voting for him.
It has nothing to do with whether the virus lives or dies.
I say it's gone even as I write this.
