Jeff sessions is a perfect example of a what the 17th amendment needs to go.. Session is a flawed weakling with moral superiority complex, he is nice.. with no spine or conviction, who will only do what the Uniparty tells him to do... You would never have people like Jeff sessions in government without the 17th amendment being in place.
