Roger Stone told Fox News he is 'praying' for Trump to intervene ahead of his prison sentence.
President Trump is expected to announce that he will commute Roger Stones sentence, just days before the longtime political operative is slated to report to prison to serve more than three years for charges stemming from former Special Counsel Robert Muellers investigation, Fox News has learned.
Sources told Fox News Friday that the president could announce a commutation of Stones sentence as early as Friday evening.
The president, as recently as Friday morning, has said he was "looking at" offering Stone clemency, saying he was "very unfairly treated."
Stone was set to report to prison on July 14 to serve 40 months. He was sentenced in February to more than three years in prison after being convicted in November 2019 on seven counts of obstruction, witness tampering and making false statements to Congress on charges that stemmed from Muellers investigation. Stone, however, has appealed his conviction and continues to deny any wrongdoing.
Trump, for weeks, has signaled he could be open to granting Stone clemency tweeting last month that Stone was a victim of a corrupt and illegal Witch Hunt, one which will go down as the greatest political crime in history. He can sleep well at night!
During an exclusive interview with Fox News this week, Stone said he was praying for Trump to intervene.
When asked whether hed prefer a pardon or a commutation of his sentence, Stone said either one obviously would have an effect, in my opinion, of saving my life.

How can that be any worse than the uproar the Stone pardon is going to cause?
Nope just cant spew crap with out Documentation
“Stone deserves a full pardon, not just a commutation, given how horribly he was framed and railroaded by the utterly corrupt communist judge, Amy Berman Jackson.”
I agree.
Can Trump commute now and pardon later?
Hasn't won anything yet. And the whole D.C. Circuit is going to review it. Why take a chance? Pardon him now.
Which hill you want to die on, if any ?
For doing what exactly?
Surely you are talking about Amy Berman Jackson here. No one is human scum more than she is. Total slime. She should be in jail.
Only ignoramuses are unaware.
Tried to get Republican Party to be pro-Abortion.
Here is one if the lesser scummy photos of him that are out there.
Linked, I won’t post it.
Yeah. Full pardon. AFTER the November elections
Chuckle.
You not too bright is you?
Many defendants in Stones position prefer a commutation while they appeal their conviction. Its better to have the conviction overturned than to have it stand and then get a pardon.
As I believe Stone recently explained it, he wants the chance still to clear his name, so just wants a commutation from Trump now to keep him from having to go to prison.
Good on Trump for taking care of this.
I wish he’d take care of Julian Assange too.
He’ll win and libs will be sad
Judge Sullivan to issue a stay on a pardon!
AWESOME!!! Now from what I hear, a commuted sentence is different than a pardon am right? SO glad this is being done, now just watch the same commies who are for abolishing prisons, be up in arms about Stone’s sentence being commuted
Flynn really has nothing to be pardoned for. He walks as soon as that stubborn judge realizes its over.
Me thinks the entire republic is way more important than just one issue
Its so unjust Trump should relish doing it. He should spend an hour explaining what a fraud this was and that he’s really being punished for being a “Friend of Trump”.
Stick it the Deep State, Mr. President!
It's not over till it's over. Why take the chance? Show the D.C. Circuit what Trump thinks of their en banc hearing and preempt it by pardoning Flynn now.
Wouldn’t be surprised if that idiot Sullivan tried it. :^)
