A memorial just north of New York City honoring five firefighters who died during the September 11 terrorist attacks was defaced by vandals, who knocked the flag pole to the ground.
City police are investigating the vandalism that occurred sometime Tuesday night in Washingtonville. Vandals successfully severed the monument's flag pole about five feet from the base. An undisclosed message was left written across the base of the granite memorial erected to honor firefighters Mark Whitford, Bobby Hamilton, Gerry Nevins, Dennis Devlin, and Glenn Perry.
Washingtonville Mayor Joseph Bucco said the flagpole will be replaced, and is offering a $3,000 reward for information about the criminals who perpetrated the act.
The perps were probably in diapers when 9/11 happened. But as you say “No Excuse.”
I prefer the pillory. That way people can throw rotten tomatoes at the perp as they walk by.
Same thing, different word. Look up 'Pillory' and it will also show 'Stocks'! English, a mongrel language that has to/two/too many homonyms and more words that say the same things!
The stocks have only the feet immobilized. The pillory is where you are standing but bent over, and your head and feet are immobilized.
Should be head, and hands.
