As Goya Foods CEO Robert Unanue stood beside President Trump in the Rose Garden Thursday afternoon, the head of a corporation that bills itself as Americas largest Hispanic-owned food company remembered his grandfather. The Spanish immigrant and Trump have something in common, Unanue said.
Were all truly blessed at the same time to have a leader like President Trump who is a builder, and thats what my grandfather did, the executive said. He came to this country to build, to grow, to prosper. And so we have an incredible builder, and we pray for our leadership, our president, and we pray for our country that we will continue to prosper and to grow.
But what were intended to be celebratory comments marking Trumps signing of an executive order that pledges to improve Hispanic Americans access to educational and economic opportunities instead fueled a firestorm of backlash targeting Unanue and Goya that culminated in widespread calls to boycott the popular brand.
As clips of Unanues remarks circulated on social media Thursday, Latinos and longtime supporters of Goyas food slammed the CEOs commendation of Trump, citing the presidents incendiary rhetoric and controversial policies aimed at minority communities and immigrants. By early Friday, Goya was still a top trending term on Twitter along with the hashtags #Goyaway and #BoycottGoya as a number of public figures, and Democrats such as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.) and former presidential candidate Julián Castro, criticized Unanue a third-generation Spanish American for praising Trump.

Never bought their products before, but will add some to my grocery cart when I go shopping.
I'll be sure to keep an eye out for some. :)
This is real racism - “Latinos” are boycotting. Not individuals, not people who may have a different view, just a lumpsum group called “Latinos”. This is a truly rotten “newspaper”, full of elitists and condescending snots.
The old Dixie Chicks problem. Know your customers before you dip a toe into politics.
“Really? What kinda stuff do they make? Salsa and stuff? “
Canned goods, beans, vegetables, all sorts of stuff. Sort of a Hispanic DelMonte. They are, surprisongly, headquartered in New Jersey

Why is that a good thing? Would touting yourself as the largest white owned company be a good thing?
I guarantee you that this left wing boycott will fail miserably.
Goya makes the best Spanish products at cheap prices. Their tomato sauce is the best anywhere. Their broth and Sofrito seasoning packets are excellent.
The asshole communist AOC and homo Castro will not make a dent.
I buy their beans all the time.
Sounds delicious. I love black bean soup. I will look for them at Kroger’s the next time I shop.
So the compost says so and the Twitter gutter rats/bots repeat. I really disbelieve it.
I’m heading to the store today to stock up on Goya products.

They have a very diverse line, way beyond the typical Sonoran Mexican foods most Americans equate with “Mexican” food.
Another Lie. Latinos are protesting in WP land means radicals AOC and Julian Castro want a boycott.
Boycott the popular brand? surprisingly weak.
We are at war with globalists. Literally.
Goya is lucky their stores are not being burned to the ground by BLM / Antifa.
My recommendation is to put 24/7 machine gun armed security around their properties. Not kidding.
Apparently, AOCIdiot and Castro represent all Latinos?
“Latinos are now boycotting” is erroneous.
Love Goya products. Now even more.
I call BS on this. 1. It’s the Washington Compost. 2. No one is paying attention other than the AOC types and they are not voting for Trump anyway. 3. When Goya is the only game in town, you ain’t boycotting it. 4. People just don’t care.
To my recollection, I have never used Goya products but I will make an extra effort to find and use them in the future.
Thursday remarks? Boycott? Outrage? Really? How many?
Most of the people have no idea about what he said and could not possibly care less.
More stirring the pot by the media.
AmazonPoohPost lies again.
