Goya’s CEO said the U.S. is ‘truly blessed’ with President Trump. Latinos are now boycotting
The Washington Post ^ | July 10, 2020 | Allyson Chiu

As Goya Foods CEO Robert Unanue stood beside President Trump in the Rose Garden Thursday afternoon, the head of a corporation that bills itself as America’s largest Hispanic-owned food company remembered his grandfather. The Spanish immigrant and Trump have something in common, Unanue said.

“We’re all truly blessed at the same time to have a leader like President Trump who is a builder, and that’s what my grandfather did,” the executive said. “He came to this country to build, to grow, to prosper. And so we have an incredible builder, and we pray for our leadership, our president, and we pray for our country that we will continue to prosper and to grow.”

But what were intended to be celebratory comments marking Trump’s signing of an executive order that pledges to improve Hispanic Americans’ access to educational and economic opportunities instead fueled a firestorm of backlash targeting Unanue and Goya that culminated in widespread calls to boycott the popular brand.

As clips of Unanue’s remarks circulated on social media Thursday, Latinos and longtime supporters of Goya’s food slammed the CEO’s commendation of Trump, citing the president’s incendiary rhetoric and controversial policies aimed at minority communities and immigrants. By early Friday, “Goya” was still a top trending term on Twitter along with the hashtags #Goyaway and #BoycottGoya as a number of public figures, and Democrats such as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.) and former presidential candidate Julián Castro, criticized Unanue — a third-generation Spanish American — for praising Trump.

“He didn’t sound intimidated.”

Good. Maybe his example will turn the tide of these cowardly CEOs caving instantly to the mob.

I’m sure it’s a LA RAZA claiming to represent “latino” interests to put out a puff piece.

Why do they assume all Latinos are boycotting him when just a few nutcases are calling for it?

Same thing when something happens in ‘the black community’ they call on one black person to tell everyone what all black people think.

And if they bother to get two black people with opposing views, it always goes like this:

Conservative Black man: “Well I disagree …”

‘Normal’ Black Man: “YOU’RE AN UNCLE TOM!”

PS I love Candace Owens’ answer to being called “Uncle tom”... she said she actually bothered to READ THE BOOK and Uncle Tom is the hero in the story.

Chick Peas! Make your own hummus, chickpea soup, chick pea salad, etc. High in protein, low in fat, and tasty. Theirs have always been the BEST! Now I have even more reason to buy GOYA products.

They also make spices, Sazon Completa, Adobo, Sofrito, etc.

Canned beans (pinto, cannelloni, navy, black, pea, etc) which go great in soups, 3-bean salad and salsa, or just as a side dish.

VIVA GOYA!!!!!!!!!

AOC, Democrat, nutcase, lunatic that she is, and Democrat, Julian Castro, ZERO that he is are attacking the great CEO, Robert Unanue of Goya foods for his support of POTUS, Donald J. Trump. My wife and I went out this morning and bought a bunch of Goya food products for our personal use. Methinks, Both Trump & Unanue have no problem with AOC & her band of America Haters ranting and raving negatives about the Goya Foods CEO!

Why? Cubans, love Trump, Venezuelans love Trump, Colombians love Trump, Brazilians love Trump, Mexicans love Trump, and many Puerto Ricans, love Trump, etc. And just ordinary Americans of all stripes like and consume Goya Foods products!!! CEO, Unanue...we got your back, sir!!!

Pick up a Ford, too!

The Left-wing mob demanded that Ford stop producing police cars.

The CEO just said they will NEVER stop supporting the police!

God Bless him!— Ryan Fournier (@RyanAFournier) July 10, 2020

Garbanzos and other bean as well as many spices. I haven’t checked the “Hispanic, Latino, etc.” non nationality section of a grocery store around here that caters to many Mexican families, for other Goya products.

What??? This is insane.

Why? Consider the source. The Washington Compost. A dyed in the blue hard left publication dedicated to destroying President Trump. This article was written as a hit piece. Mostly false and hype and will have no meaningful impact on Trumps reelection chance. Not even fit to be used as azzwipe material.

In my markets their aisle is filled with options. Their canned beans are good quality, especially chickpeas. They have exotic sodas like tamarind, passion fruit, etc. There are little cans of fruit pulp juices/purees.

Been using a mixture of Goya made products for years. I have a high opinion overall of Goya made products. Let the offended snowflakes cry and whine and pout. They’ll soon get over it.
