My Dad was a pilot. When I was 12, he took me to Boston on one of his trips, and we walked the Liberty Trail.

On the way home at a stop in Denver, it appeared his plane would be full and my standby ticket would not allow me to get home that day. So he handed me $50, and told me to go get a hotel and come back the next day and try again. Then he walked on the plane.

I have had had a plan for all possible contingencies every day since.

And the only place they do and ever will exist is in my mind, unless things get out of hand and they need to be exercised.

In a 50 mile radius of me, there are only *7* “members”?

The Viet communists were well aware of this problem and after they expanded their operations out of the deep jungle of the Nam Bac they installed a relentlessly tight internal security structure aimed at identifying weak or wavering members and isolating likely enemy agents, who were quickly eliminated.

Americans alive today have no such historical experience to draw upon. I would suggest reading as many accounts of the FFI and other French resistance groups as possible. Penetration by German or Milice agents remained a big problem until the Germans were expelled.

n this sort of environment, no risks can be entertained, one has to be willing to eliminate ‘possible’ enemy agents without a second thought.
