7-day moving average in the US has leveled off at about 517 deaths per day (7-day average at 518 on July 4, 516 July 5, 517 July 6).

Here’s hoping that the trend toward decline resumes quickly. >500 per day is far too many souls lost. President Trump indicated a vaccine may be pretty close. That would be a godsend, both for the country and for the President’s reelection.

Over 800 today. That may be due to catching up to delays in counting from the holiday weekend.

7500 people on average die per day in the US; are you suggesting these 500 is on top of that, and not part of that number...?

because if you are, you would be wrong...
