As a marine infantryman, I deployed to the occupation of Ramadi Iraq, in 2005. It was there, that I first witnessed the true nature of the war. I heard the cries of mothers screaming as their families were torn apart, and I began to realize I was not a liberator. As my comrades died around me, I began to realize we were nothing more than cannon fodder for empire. Fighting, killing, and dying for profit, resources, and global domination.
Returning home I witnessed the same war waged against communities all around me. The police terror unleashed on Black lives. Colonialism expanding and brutally seizing lands from Indigenous people. Mass human caging. Sacred Native Lands stolen to build pipelines just like the ones in Iraq.
All wrapped in the propaganda and flag of “freedom.” And so today, 15 years after I deployed to the criminal war in Iraq, I stand in solidarity with a legacy of US veterans and Service Members who turned their backs on US Imperialism and stood with The People. Today I will attack and destroy one of the most important tools of US imperialism, it’s most sacred symbol: the US Flag.
Let us all stand up and fight back. Rip down every statue, burn every flag, sabotage every tank, and tear down every wall of US empire. Let us fight for true freedom and total liberation for all people.

As a former Marine infantryman myself, I don’t see that as a disqualifier.
Other than that, yeah. I get a strong “stolen valor” vibe off the guy and if not that, then a full blown “astro turph” of a REMF playing at being a grunt.
Being an ex-82nd guy I can say this man failed Marine Infantryman training OR the Marine Infantry training failed him. My bet is this man slipped through the cracks of Marine training, thank God for the 82nd Airborne were we were all conditioned mentally and physically to endure the testing of war....this man does a great disservice to the Marines and any warrior contemplating joining up to become the tip of the spear.
