GUNSHOTS have reportedly been fired at a US military base in California.
Several reports have emerged on social media of an “active shooter” at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC) in California.
The base also known as 29 Palms, is the largest US Marine Corps base.
"Code White: There is an Active Shooter in the A M C C. Remain calm.
"Silence your cell phone. Run, hide, fight. Help is on the way."
Several concerned residents took to Twitter, one user wrote: “Active shooter on US Marine Base 29 palms CA.”
Another user said: “Supposedly there's an active shooter on 29 Palm.”
This is a developing news story, more to follow.
Astonishing that it takes longer than 10s to neutralize an active shooter on a military base...

BREAKING: a shooting suspect is now in custody at the Twentynine Palms Marine Base. A base spokesperson confirmed active shooter situation started around 6:30 this morning. Officials are speaking with the suspect now. No word on injuries or victims at this point.

I’m guessing that the Sun UK got confused between EDT and PDT, but states that the ‘shooter’ is in custody of SB sheriff deputies, as it says in custody at 11am which is 3 hours from now.

Whatever historical reason there may have been for it, is lost now. We are at war with Islam, and we are soon going to have a hot Civil War.
They are mostly unarmed, as crazy as it sounds.

You cannot conceal carry on a Marine Base. I think officers still fear their enlisted on Marine bases. I had a Marine General tells us he banned conceal carry because he feared so many armed Marines would create a “polish firing squad” during an active shooter incident. I was stunned to hear that he had so little regard for the training his Marines received and this after so many Marines returned from street fighting in Iraq. Also 29 Stumps is a huge base, depending on where the shooting occurred it could take some time to find the shooter.

I just talked to my son who is stationed at 29 Palms.
He heard about it, but seems to think it’s no big deal.
Could have just been a negligent discharge. He did not say he had to shelter in place.
The general discussion in his unit is the media could be making a big deal out of nothing, but they don’t know.
They won’t let us possess personal weapons on base, what the hell do they think will happen?

So the suspect is in custody, but they haven’t released any info on who it is? No name or race/ethnicity? It’s been 3 hours since they’ve had them in custody. Why the delay in releasing info?
