Putting politics aside, he is an incredibly gifted quarterback. I think he scored seven touchdowns in a row close to the end of the season in the playoffs. In three playoff games last season the Chiefs were down by double-digits in each game - including 23-0 to the Texans - and won each game by double digits. They put up 41 unanswered points against the Texans.
In two years as a starter, Mahomes has a 23-7 record. He's passed for 9,128 yards with 76 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. He also rushed for 490 yards and four touchdowns on 103 carries. I don't know if any athlete is worth $400 million. But if any athlete is going to get it then it should be Mahomes.

He’s a young kid and again politics aside I hope he was raised right and the money doesn’t ruin him.
I don’t agree with his BLM stance but I hope he has a great life.
Seems like a good enough guy

Those playoff comebacks were each remarkable in their own way, but collectively, simply a great performance by a team led by someone exceptional. I doubt many players could have rallied their teams the way Mahomes did.

I am a die hard Pats/Brady fan. Mahomes is easily the best QB Ive seen in the past two years.

He is similar to the player that he just displaced as the top paid NFL player.
Russell Wilson, after 2 years, was 24-8 (played 2 more games in 2 years than Mahomes did in 3),
both won a super bowl (Wilson y2, Mahomes y3),
Wilson passed for 9,950 yds, 72 tds, and 26 int (across 3 years), whereas Mahomes stats are similar after 2.
Wilson rushed for 1,877 yds and 11 TDs on 308 carries (3 years) and had 849 yds in 1 year.
Probably the biggest difference is Wilson was saddled with Pete Carrols run first offense, whereas Mahomes got Andy Reids pass offense. Both are very likable down to earth people. In Seattle, we are hoping this is the year that Russell is truely unleashed.
