Living in Georgia when 'The Devil Went Down To Georgia' came out, it was ALL the radio stations played for most of that year. Got kinda tedious.

Didn't really care for his music, just not my thing, but I REALLY enjoyed the columns he wrote.

I remember the FIRST time I ever heard that song.......Was driving across the bridge to Sanibel Island in SW Florida Gulf Coast at the time. Don’t know why it sticks in my head, but it does................

I will never forget after leaving an amazing Charlie Daniels Band concert, we drove home listening to the FM radio station that had promoted the show. Charlie came on in studio and did an acoustical version of The Legend Of Wooley Swamp. Honestly, it was better than the stage performance from earlier in the evening.

He will be missed!!
