A pregnant woman has died after she was shot in Minnesota, but the hospital was able to deliver her baby.
The Minneapolis Police Department said the woman, who has not been identified, was shot around 9 p.m. on Sunday at the intersection of East 37th Street and Elliot Avenue.
As noted by WCCO, the shooting occurred near the memorial site where George Floyd died in police custody on May 25.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the pregnant woman in a car suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. She was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC), where her baby was delivered.
The woman later died while at the hospital. There is currently no information on the condition of the baby.

Her name is Leneesha Helen Columbus. She was loved by her family and her community and she was murdered yesterday while 20 weeks pregnant.
There are unsubstantiated reports that the murderer was her boyfriend.
Totally different case.
