That’s true. Maybe when he’s President? ;)
OC is against Wal-Mart policy nationally. However e, unless a Wal-Mart manager in a State decides to call the cops, not much will come of OC.
Here in Missouri, signage prohibiting CC is defined by statute. OC isn’t even defined by MO statute per se, just in law and constitution generally.
My local Wal-Mart manager told me that they would not make contact an OC, if there was concern they’d just call the police.
They prefer CC ad it is transparent and the manager clearly indicated his position, that CC folks are serious about safety, while he believed that OC types were mostly grandstanding.
All the while I was armed with two handguns and 48 rounds of ammo and was wearing concealed body armor and had a fighting knife, OC spray and a body camera.... And an IFAK ( for me or mine).
The only message I want send passively or actively is a 40/180 at 875fps or three when and if the need ever arises.
Open carry is not prohibited in all wal-marts in Wis the Kindly ask you not to open carry.
If you read the ammoland article you well see the verbiage and the actual sign is very small.
Of course if they ask you to leave or cover up it is wise to do so.
I never been asked to do either.
I had a brief contact with the head of security in my home town store and he never said a thing about my open carry.
I was Hi how are things going type encounter.
But then I have known him for 40 years.
we are respectfully requesting that customers no longer openly carry firearms into our stores or Sams Clubs in states where open carry is permitted unless they are authorized law enforcement officers.
We believe the opportunity for someone to misinterpret a situation, even in open carry states, could lead to tragic results. We hope that everyone will understand the circumstances that led to this new policy and will respect the concerns of their fellow shoppers and our associates. As it relates to concealed carry by customers with permits, there is no change to our policy or approach.
And yes, the signage is not within accordance to MO state law regarding CC, but it is a posted sing and has the force of law in MO. It is private property and OCers have had their license to enter the premises withdrawn lawfully by the posting of the signage as it stands. And again, yes, likely nothing will ever be done to enforce it unless there is cause.
Regards.
